I don't think anyone has called the people of Wootton Bassett "racists" or even objected to banning the march by the Islamists ... In fact, it sounds like all agree that the UK did the right thing.

So, it's perfectly OK to force your British "memorials" in another sovereign country, against the citizens' wishes ...

I don,t know much about this but the reason for it being put in Kyrenia is dubious  and not wise I suppose, a refusal from the RoC to have it here is one, but in the rest of the world bitter enemies from WW11 have graveyards for the enemy dead on their soil and encourage decades later relatives to visit. I wonder why this evades Cyprus?

For the simple reason , there in Cyprus, is a Greek word and you are still a student-you will need some centuries of education to understand!!!

No problem, I am ex RAMC 22 YEARS, Para field ambulance etc.

Been, Seen, Done, it is quite amazing that an Innocent way of showing respect to those that have died far from home has been turned into a battle by some.

Perhaps there are those who would be happy if the bombs were going off in UK towns and cities as they have done in the past and would no doubt start again if weakness is shown.

No my friend, we are sad about any bomp over London, but we are same way sad ,about killings of our own people, when British were behaving like Hitler.

Can you imagine a Hitler's memorial place in Trafaclar square?

I agree. I am pleased the UK has banned this organisation!

Democracy must be nurtured and protected against its enemies, even if they plead "minority" status and need to be heard despite their atavistic messages.

Cyprus has suffered precisely because the tyrannous minority had too much power and brought it down! :(

Britain seems to have learnt from Cyprus' downfall and is putting into motion things we were denied ....

Tolerance?

a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.

Marks out of 10?

Personally I think that the proper thing for the Cypriot government to do was to designate and even build a memorial for the psofismeni Brits in the government controlled areas get the british High commissioner to officially open it. While I am definitely opposed to the role the Brits played as imperialists and colonialist oppressors of Cyprus I still think they should be able to respect their fallen. The memorial could even become a tourist mecca where disabled Cypriots could sell Poms T-Shirts saying "my colonialist papou got blown up here here and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt" those plastic cypriot donkey souvenirs which shit out cigarettes. See Good PR- Good Diplomacy- Job creation for the flagging tourist industry and manufacturing jobs for makers of t-shirts and plastic donkeys that shit out cigarettes.

Britain is by far the most profoundly tolerant nation. It is time that this tolerance is examined and graded !!
Will we show tolerance to those that have escaped from shit holes to come here for a better life and now demanding that we CHANGE !!! our way of life . They want to bring in Sharia Barbarism , are we to accept this in the name of tolerance ?
