Andis Hadjicostis murdered

NICOSIA - Andis Handjicostis, managing director of the DIAS media group, which includes Sigma TV, was murdered last night in Nicosia.

Hadjicostis, 43, was just getting out of his car at around 8.30 outside his home near the US Embassy when a man in a crash helmet shot him twice at close range.He died instantly.
The gunman escaped on a motorcycle driven by another man.
Hadjicostis was married with two young children.
The area around the scene was cordoned off last night.

He was one of the most powerful public figures of the island, Hadjicostis Andy, who was shot by two strangers, who fled on a motorcycle. The publishing group led by murdered had strongly resisted the Annan plan and had harsh criticism of Christofias and revealed those who had taken money from UN and U.S. to support the anti-Hellenic YES project.


In September 2009 were released secret documents showing that the United Nations' opening files "personalities of public life in Cyprus, especially those who were opposed to the Annan plan. Among them a letter that was addressed to himself from special UN mediator Alexander Downer, the Andy Hadjicostis and his father Costis Hadjicostis because of their attitude against the Annan plan, which have a 'anti-American "," anti-British'.

The paper noted that the newspaper group of Hadjicosti, revealed what institutions and individuals have taken money to support the Annan plan and that the revelations for people who offered their services to Americans continued at regular intervals.

One of the brightest guys around, can't see what motives there could have been other than this protective small Cypriot community is slipping fast into something else.

Shame, really a shame especially for such a young family.

No, it’s his father that was the politically outspoken one so I can’t see the relevance to what you posted.

Also, the early morning news have already talked about “financial differences” being the suspected reason for the execution.

Don’t jump on Yialoser’s bandwagon because he gets his info from Greek nationalist sources.
