Take Denizi for example… I know he can blend in with us lot while still going about his customs, religion, whatever, without offending or challenging ours so why should we see him as an enemy? There’s just no reason to.

Most of the rest of you however, are just hell-bent on eating away at Cyprus and fashioning her into something different from the authentic, or reinventing the Cypriot identity if you like, with all your malicious maneuvers, so don’t expect us to have any compassion for you!

Listen,the notion of human rights did not exist in Ottoman times...The Ottoman empire was no worse than any of the others...In fact in certain aspects it was better...The conquered people were largely left alone to get on with their lives,as long as they paid their taxes and did not revolt...
Having said that,I am not suggesting people like being ruled by anyone,let alone by a foreign power..It must've been terrible to be subjugated like that,but they were different times ,Oracle..Empires and conquests were the norm...You can't judge the Ottoman times by our enlightened human rights standards...And then turn around and ignore what happeened to the TCs in our living memory...That is the hypocracy...That is the callous disregard...

The TCs had carried out a coup in 1963 against the government, violently enforced it for years whilst threatening and terrorising the GCs with partition and reinforcing their "might" as a tyrannous minority with Turkey's belligerent aerial and marine attacks (1964). The GCs had to resort to using the services of the UN to establish some degree of normality. And so on ... none of it "revisionist" but all substantiated with facts and evidence.
