Soldiers executed after surrender. Is that not a war crime for which many were tried and punished?

As for most being soldiers, we are conveniently forgetting that "NATO's best" allowed massacres of civilians at Kythrea (those have been identified).

We are also forgetting that both sides are harboring some real gems in their midst. The people who committed the massacres of Sandalaris, Afania, Kythrea, are walking around free and no doubt admired for their heroism. We call them "fighters" and reward them. There is an attitude that cuts across both communities, we know it, we know how it is expressed, and how we all shut up about it. We also know that we would not feel at all comfortable if one of these "fighters" wanted to marry into our families.

Omerta is a way of life common to most Mediterranean islands.

I am not sure what Omerta is (vendeta???) but Nikitas is making a lot of sense...We must get to the bottom of this,let the truth come out,whatever it is,and deal with it...Treating murderers as heros diminish us all as human beings..We become complicit in the murders...But since the estalishment(state if you like) on both sides are closely associated with all the terrible events in the recent past nothing will be allowed to surface...and the bitterness and hatred will keep growing...Helped along by certain people in this Forum....

Gabira and you accused these unfortunate families of "spreading hate" and what's more you both said they would "continue to spread hate".

These families, that you accuse, have their loved ones listed as missing and YOU and GABIRA are slandering them directly of spreading hate!

Now do you have some evidence or do you have some other reason for being disrespectful? I know Gabira is evil incarnate, but you were quick to pretend taking offence to others of "ridiculing" your dead, merely at some one's say so.

I'll take it you are correcting the mistake you failed to correct at the outset when you jumped to support Gabira who once again gave us further evidence of how she is drawn to "comment" on the dead and their families.

(As for you; you really must stop slandering those, like me, who want Human Rights equally for all as having "murderous thoughts". Your moral compass is way off!)

We can only love/support those who support the Republic and the authentic Cypriot flag. Take Denizi for example… I know he can blend in with us lot while still going about his customs, religion, whatever, without offending or challenging ours so why should we see him as an enemy? There’s just no reason to.

Most of the rest of you however, are just hell-bent on eating away at Cyprus and fashioning her into something different from the authentic, or reinventing the Cypriot identity if you like, with all your malicious maneuvers, so don’t expect us to have any compassion for you!

I always assumed she was a man...
Oracle,stop talking nonsense...I have no tangible proof that the families of the missing are spreading hatred...But it is logical that these people,on both side (and remember there are more than 500 TCs missing too) might not be too ready to forgive the other side yet...

If you want me to take your human rights pleas seriously,you will have to admit that the TCs human rights were severly curtailed during 63-74 period.. And not many GCs gave a damn about it...Otherwise I will treat you as an opportunistic hypocrite who keeps dropping the official GC propaganda line everywhere...
