I don't think you can take a car out of the UK if you still have finance on it, it has to do with reposession if you fail to pay. We tried with no luck
You could always say you were going on a touring holiday and forget to go back ; )

Ahhhhhh sweetheart we had already thought of that one. The thing is we would still be keeping the payments up over here, so no one would know really its not like we are going to default.

Re the touring holiday thing, not sure as to where to go once we are at Athens or should it be Turkey, I get different answers every time I ask some one.

Thank you soooooo much for you reply. Have a good day darling xx

bank can take your car away.

I am of the opinion that to ship/drive the car out of UK you must first clarify to customs/bank why you are leaving the contry for good/holiday.

In that case you will need authority from your bank.

I think thats the most sensible answer!!!! :D

There is nothing that can stop an EU citizen taking a car from one member state to another .
The fact that your vehicle does not strictly belong to you until the finance on it has been fully discharged does not stop you from exporting the vehicle but you would be breaking a part of the finance contract that may prohibit the export of the vehicle , this you will have to check your self , the small print on the finance agreement . If , as you say , you will maintain the payments the finance company will be none the wiser.
If you fail to fulfill your payments repossession of the vehicle can be implemented in any EU nation .
Go through Greece since you will not be able to enter the RoC via Turkey and if you chose to enter through the unrecognized occupied part of Cyprus you may very well experience difficulties in registering the vehicle in the RoC.
May I also caution you , forgive me if you are already familiar with the political scene in Cyprus , the "trnc" is considered by the UN and the UK as an illegal entity , it is not recognized by any nation on earth and please don't make the silly mistake that thousands of Brits , who are now suffering , have made in purchasing property from an illegal regime.
Wish you all the best .
