How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Here's a taster: - We have given the TRNC and its legal system every single opportunity to put things right over the last 6 years and now we find that we have hit the usual brick wall and mountains of lies. Therefore this offer has been made to us, and we have absolutely nothing financial to lose. We have no intention of ever returning to Cyprus and judging from the mountains of emails received in the last hour, we have many wishing to join us

The whole "debate" is "HOT" on thieves forum: -

I have the same sympathy for these people as they have for the displaced Greek Cypriots whose land they sought to occupy - none!

They are still carpetbaggers. Had the Northern authorities acceded to their demands (whatever they were) where would your sympathies lie then?

Deniz. I think you may have misread my last sentance.

Yes ok D, but even if Tnucland Regime gives in to their demands, there still remains the huge matter of what any court, (leaving aside the motives of the Carpetbaggers) would see as mis-selling based on worthless kochans.

Ultimately the dodgy kochans matter must come before the courts, in actions brought against Turkey by some of the Carpetbaggers.

As to where our sympathies lie, surely it is a case of being consistent in one's arguments and with me that consistency comes through a faith in legalities and the judicial system, no matter the end result.

I agree with your sentiments. To me its the burglar who takes the homeowner to court because the home owners has infringed his 'human rights'.

These guys ought to try a Greek court. I remember one case, watching the goings on while waiting to give evidence in a later docket. The plaintiff explained how he had been duped into buying a house really cheap, and later found out it had lots of hidden faults.

"You have been cheated sir! I will give you that much in writing, but I am not sure by who, him or your own greed." said the judge in a loud voice, and duly dismissed the case.

Are you saying the GCs are at fault for fleeing, at gunpoint, and leaving their homes to be sold to carpetbaggers, by TCs?

The British cheapskates made their own decision to invest their money in a part of the world that Internationally is recognized to be under the occupation of Turkey which created a pseudo state that not one single nation recognizes , all this in spite of advice from their own Foreign Office.
They have found out the hard way , tough !
While on the subject of dodgy deals we must not forget that many Brits are having similar problems in the RoC and we must not close our eyes to the cheats that are operating in the RoC controlled areas.

Reading through the cyprus44.com link it seems there are three women involved. Because of the stress of losing their life savings, one woman has lost her husband while the other two have husbands whose health has deteriorated badly. I'd say they have already paid heavily for their stupid and opportunistic misdemeanour.

They are now on a quest for "justice". The damage the publicity from this case will do to the "TRNC" is immeasurable and all the carpetbaggers know it as they are desparately trying to dissuade the women from pursuing.

These Greek Lawyers are now the quintessential Greek heroes.... :D

Bravo!

[quotation marks now removed from the word Greek!]

I seem to remember that a few years ago Gary Robb's assets were frozen and the authorities were going to complete the houses. Then he suddenly reappears and again takes off - to Thailand I think and his mother is then reported to be taking funds to wherever he was holed up. My question is, where are these frozen assets now, who is collecting the interest whilst it is sitting in the "freezer"? If the authorities were legitimate, wouldn't they have paid off the cheated buyers from the the frozen assets in a show of goodwill and honesty?

The frozen assets have been placed in the personal bank accounts of the "authorities " for.....safe keeping !!

There is some more info about the original Court case against Turkey here: -

.
Apparently Thieves Forum have banned the three women (ABAG) from posting there for one month, so much for freedom of speech in the "trnc".
