That’s so sweet of you… :) I just can’t handle non-technical arguments because I know there can never be a conclusion so it’s pointless to bloody argue them anyway! I don’t know where people get the patience to drivel on and on about something that’s relative!

Anyway, I’m pretty pissed off too with the garden because I need to drill for bore water and that costs 5-6k!!! Bloody hell! Just done my stamped concrete patio though, and it looks brilliant and I’m getting plant soil by the truck full this coming week but I need the WATER if I’m to progress further with reticulation etc!!!

5-6K!!! Seems a bit on the heavy side. What diameter and depth?

Someone I know had one of the wide ones (about 80cm-100cm) wide and thirty metres depth complete with the concrete liners (kounia?) for 1200CY, less than a couple of years ago.

I wish it was 30m! I'd be laughing! :) We're on a bit of a hill at 300m above sea level, so all my neighbors had to drill to about 150m, hence the high cost! :(

Do you have a permit for this? And if so, you can get a grant to subsidise it.

Yeah, there’s an application form you fill in and give to the Water Board but I haven’t enquired about the grant yet as I don’t expect it to be very high!

If its anything like that for the solar panels (CY 300 ?), etc, its peanuts  ...but thanks for reminding me! :)

Good luck, 150m is a deep dig, you may find oil then the turks would have something to say

If I find oil I'll throw a big party and we'll set it alight like they used to burn whiskey at the bouzoukia! 8)

DT/CBBB, lets make it Wednesday for Kafenes who is willing to travel that far, plus I haven't seen him since last summer! :D

And don’t worry about the “other day” guys because they’re just a bunch of Charlies in the UK who can’t come anyway and couldn’t help themselves clicking!

Btw, make a reservation for 6-8 people please.

Great! see you guys on Wednesday but as I am not very familiar with Nicosia can you please give me some directions of how to get there and a time.
As I am not much of a drinker I offer a lift to anyone who wants to go from this side of the island including people from Pissouri or Limassol.
Please PM me for a contact number.

For the benefit of Charlatans and other members who can't be present, could someone take a smartphone or a suitably connected lap-top and do an experimental live broadcast from the event????

Straight on from the highway until you reach the Woolworths (actually Debenhams now) traffic lights where you turn left, the cop shop is on the corner. Now carry on straight until you reach the Demstar (Honda) traffic lights where again you turn left and then immediately left again, it is in that road on the right hand side before the road itself turns to the left.

If you PM me an email address I will send you a Google Earth place mark.
