Flag of the Occupation ADMIN PLEASE NOTE

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Acikgoz » Sat Jan 09, 2010 6:53 pm

Here, follow this strand to give but one example of how dumb you are:
Does EU demand secularism of member states?
Is there a cross on the Greek flag?
Can you be secular and have a religious identity?
Can you not understand why your point is ridiculous and pointless?

You are diverting. If you don't see it then you are dumber than I believe you are.

Next stupid comment....

 And the Swastika is an ancient Hindu symbol but we all know what it symbolises today.

denizaksulu wrote:Somehow, I believe that the crescent alone symbolised Islam and not the crescent and star. You place too much weight on its symbolism.

No, the crescent moon and star symbolise Islam. Other Muslim countries who use it are:

Algeria
Azerbaijan
Comoros
Malaysia
The Maldives
Mauritania
Pakistan
Tunisia

Star and crescent
Today it is most widely recognized as a symbol of Islam, and is often used alongside the Christian cross and the Star of David to designate Muslim nations, territory or populations.

So is the "TRNC" a secular or Muslim territory? Are TCs a secular or Muslim population? Your flag says Muslim. TCs say secular.

Let others judge which of us is dumb; you needing to accuse me all the time just helps them confirm which.

Greece, Denmark, Britain, Sweden, Finland are old Christian nations, which predate the EU and secularism by centuries in some cases. They were hardly going to change their flags when they joined.

I don't suppose any new, "proudly secular", nation would adopt a cross today; unless perhaps in reality they wanted to kick out all the non-Christians, followed by the secularists.

Acikgoz wrote:Can you be secular and have a religious identity?

Errr, what?

If I wanted to establish a secular state I'd steer clear of religious symbols. If I wanted to establish a Christian state I'd choose a cross symbol. And if I wanted to establish an Islamic state, guess what?

Acikgoz wrote:Can you not understand why your point is ridiculous and pointless?

No. Not at all. Sorry.

Acikgoz wrote:You are diverting. If you don't see it then you are dumber than I believe you are.

What you do (or do not) believe, is clearly irrelevant in the Islamic "TRNC".

Reality stares you in the face day and night.

Small man's way of thinking who has a major inferiority complex to seek revenge and to celebrate his Racism and Fascism because he does not understand what he is in fact doing to his own flag.

No self respecting nation or it's people who respect their own country's flag that represents them, would ever allow that flag to touch the ground, let alone paint it on the ground so that it can be defecated on by animals. Then again, there is no rational to those who hold Racist and Fascistic views. So much for the proud "nation" of the north and it's people who would allow their flag to be defecated on, by allowing it to touch the ground.!

Thats why the EU puts them on the f ground during family pics, only Erdoğan picked his flag off the ground the others just tramppled all over them so do you support his stance?

I didn't realist they had Christmas lights in the north - did you get a celebrity to switch those on?

Is there a team of settlers with a button for each lighted part and they spend all night swicthing it on and off with a TC co-ordinating the sequence?

He really is that dumb.....
You spent the time to do your analysis which is totally inconsequential to the issue and didn't think to appreciate what deniz was also trying to tell you. It is about identifying with an image. The content can be subjective as you realise with the swastika. But you cannot grasp the irrelevance of your input. To further expand on deniz's point, how does a prickly purple thistle translate into a symbol for Scotland. What does it mean in the context of this thread. NOTHING.

TCs are secular but their religious ethnicity is predominantly muslim. What the X#?! does it have to do with displaying the flag on this forum. NOTHING. That is why I feel I am justified in calling you stupid. I am hoping your next comment will be better thought out or even insightful.

Never one to bet against a strong trend, next stupid comment please Malapapa...
