Flag of the Occupation ADMIN PLEASE NOTE

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The Confederation was also a secessionist entity that was considered to be illegitimate by the rest of the United States, so in that respect there is a striking parallel with the situation in Cyprus.

I'm not denying that. Still the Confederate Flags (both the Southern Cross/Battle Flag, and the "Stars and Bars") have special meaning in the former Confederate States. FYI as a flag buff, I rather enjoy reading about the flags used by the CSA, and on March 4 of every year, I fly a replica of the 3rd National Flag from my front lawn flagpole.

Not until or if we reach a solution, even then yours will represent you and our will represent us with a new for the federal and internaitonal level.

VP, can some of us have your assurance there will be no more offensive flags in your posts?

NO

Oh dear dear.!

That was a trick question, VP and you fell right into it.!

The operative word was "offensive flags".!

So you agree, that the flag of the "trnc" is offensive.!

It's too late. You can't take back your answer now.!

It maybe be offensive to him like the "RoC" flag is offensive to me.

Yeah but, you have agreed with him that the flag of the "trnc" is offensive.............period.! There is no mention of the flag of the RoC, but only the flag in your post.!

Just one more example of you not paying attention to details. You are not as bad as YFred, but you are trying to catch him up..!

An other one post coming with the flag's picture from the back door.

Countries/Nations going up and down in history millions of pages. Greeks had and still have "many pages black" but -till now no page of this "TRNC" is readable-all are black.

I like the dove and the olive branches. Not sure about the rest though.

Any ideas why it wasn't called the "Turkish Cypriot Republic of Northern Cyprus", Expat?

I mean, isn't there a Turkish Republic already? Of... er... Turkey?

Given your knowledge of these matters, is there any other country named in the same way? Like, just as an example (both are made-up pseudo-states for the purposes of winding you up), the "Australian Republic of Eastern New Zealand"? Or the "Mexican Republic of Southern USA"?

I'd be fascinated to see the flags and crests of any such country.

Funilly enough, I am not hot on the TURKISH part of the TRNC name. I would have preferred just North Cyprus. FYI, Mexico's formal title is the United States of Mexico (Estados Unitos Mexicanos). New Zealand used to be called the Dominion of New Zealand, but it is now just New Zealand.

Why did your pal do that? All those years ago, do you think?

Good question. A UDI would logically have a name like "Republic of North Cyprus". ..

I hope you ask him. Why do you think this was done? Surely he's not stupid.

Yes. How illogical. I hope you can clear it up as any supporter of Turkish Cypriots and their freedom ought to be troubled by this, don't you think?
