How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I ALWAYS considered Bir as more of a True Cypriot than I ever was. In his heart he still is. He just seeks a solution which will be acceptable to more belligerent TCs. Have you read his earlier posts Paphitis?

denizaksulu, maintaining troops from Turkey on Cyprus is not a solution.

And if after free Cypriots have displayed all the empathy, trust and goodwill in the world, there is still an insistance that these troops remain in their country then, forgive me, but we are wasting our time.

As I have been advocating for quite a while now, the legal avenue is the only one worth pursuing at this time; that and blocking Turkey's EU path at every juncture.

Do you only want a reduction of Turkish Troop numbers in Cyprus or do you prefer a complete withdrawal?

I have read Bir's posts, and quite frankly Deniz, they don't inspire me with any confidence like Kikapu does, and your humanist self!

I do not recall him saying that they should stay forever. Even Pres X will allow a gradual withdrawal of foreign forces. You also have questioned the Helenic forces remaining in Cyprus. With a proper agreement lets hope they will all vanish. Until some 'fascist' elements from both sides are pacified, the total de-militarisation of Cyprus from foreign troops will not be achieved.

We don't show empathy and compassion in order to accommodate belligerent TCs but to sideline them.

Then you are a True Cypriot! :)

The reason why it won't happen is because the more belligerent TCs will never allow it.

denizksulu, unless BirKibrisli was mistaken in how he expressed himself, even after we've demonstrated empathy and compassion, the troops remain.

We already show empathy and understanding to the TCs as most have RoC passports, ID cards, and are allowed free medical help.

If you go to any hospital emergency department, you will notice that ALL TCs are catered to first whilst the GCs are sidelined to wait their turn AFTER any TC patient, unless the GC patient was critical.

I think Bir will answer this MP. From past posts (two years ago) he did not get much approval from the other TCs you mentioned. He never got much support from GCs either, purely on the 'empathy' question. Its time the GCs do some owning up to their part in the down fall of the Republic, otherwise 'Hapı yuttuk'.
