So that's what you mean by overhead! I never heard that term before.

In Australia, we measure the swell in meters. An overhead wave is not just some out of the blue event during unseasonal storms. :lol:

australia is a continent surrounded by oceans with huge fetches, its a no-brainer that the mediterranen cannot produce waves of that size, quality or consistency

however we do get rideable waves, some days very good, within the range of 1-4 meters (no bigger than double overhead, and then only a few times a year) and consistent enough (average 3 days a week)

there are a few experienced ozzies/ south african surfers who surf here

but i would suggest that you stay in australia

Try Escape beach (5 mile beach) site of the peace intervention in Alsancak. Turks made lots of waves there.
