I am sitting in my lounge watching the Tits feeding in the garden. Why not? Its the first thing that came to my mind. Free as a bird, minus two and they are out on their business feeding. Their only care in the world - to ensure the continuity of their DNA material. Their survival. The survival of the fitest. The survival of the TCs in Cyprus.

I think of the cold and ponder the number of these tiny birds which succumb to the low temperatures. Then I suddenly remember their seemingly enourmous size and I ask myself, am I responsible for their size, then I remember what we do when we feel the cold. We put more cloths on, which helps us preserve our body heat or fluff up their feathers and they seemingly look double there size. They fly around the feeder, and on to the bush next to it and wait for their turn whilst the sparrows have their turn. I dont see them fighting with the tits or other finches which frequent my garden. Their is food enough for all. The robins also join in the fun but they never have to fight. They know there is enough for all. The sparrows outnumber the other garden birds by more than 10:1. They do not guard the bird feeders and say, 'this is all mine'. They share and share alike. A tiny bird brain. They all get along together. How lovely. Then I remembered, NO SNOWMAN'. What a pity my grand children were not here when the snow came. They would have built one.
Its easy, Palio. Thoughts beget another thought. How long is a string?

I but my bird feed by the sack if you are interested.

50 years ago (in Cyprus), they'd all be in the frying pan with the tsikla, mavroboullo and poullia.

Fred should volunteer to go and teach him some Greek. That might warm him to the TCs a little!

Really? Wasn't it the Otto-Turks who first "sold" Cyprus?

Sometimes things really are black and white. The Ottomans were 100% wrong in invading Cyprus. The Turks are 100% wrong in invading Cyprus. The Turks are 100% wrong in occupying Cyprus.

In 1571, the Ottomans had every right to take Cyprus from the Venetians. Period. The Venetians were a pain in the Ottomans arse.

And the Ottomans were known as the "sick man of Europe"! Since Turkey is such a pain in the arse, does this mean that Europe (EU) has the right to take Turkey?
