UK Pubs Finding it tough

Postby Z4 » Tue Jan 05, 2010 12:59 pm

So this has nothing to do with pubs going bust?

What is going to happen when/if VAT increases further? It could be 20%

Can your 'typical' smokers afford to smoke and drink at the boozer anymore?

Is the appeal still there to go for a pint at the boozer?

they should be able to chose smoking or non smoking people cant be botherd to keep stepping outside for a smoke and freze to death and the pubs should be able to chose but when they chose the whole pub should be smoking or non.. so then the non smokers know not to go in there if they dont want to breath smoke

i was at the huge pub near London bridge 2 weeks ago... inside was packed but they also had a lot of heated space outside under a big tent... but only few people were there. So dont blame it on smoking ban... me being non smoker, i actually sat outside because it was so warm and cozy.

The prices in UK for drinks are too high. Too much VAT and fags are expensive too. How much is a pint and a packet of 20? About £10..............bloody rip off!
