I did suspect that you would travel with CA. The problems at Heathrow had nothing to do with destinations, just where the planes were parked. They only managed to clear the landing strips and not the taxiig strips or 'parking' lots. Planes could land but passengers could not disembark.
Having said that Stanstead is much smaller. But 4 years ago I travelled to Cyprus in December. Heavy fog closed the airport down, after a 6 hour wait we were transfered by coach to Gatwick.

yes always with Ca.
stansted is very close to cambridge and the other airports are further.. i dont mind going from luton airport last time we went fromt here it was just as close.. but heathrow is very far or manchester its very far out of the way.. or gatwick but much bigger and better duty free.
we will see how things are on saturday i thing the snow will be cleared by then. i hope. so you spent 6 hours waiting then traveled to gatwick? that must of been frustrating for you and tiering.
yes they said something about the runways only being closed and not the airport.. i wanted to leave originally on the 5th but the tickets sold out.
