The weather better sort itself out soon, otherwise my wife will not be going to the UK and I will miss out on a week of freedom!

I just knew you're under the thumb.

A Scot has no chance against his Cypriot wife!

really turk airlines have had cancellations? i am going to bookmark the link you gave me.. i am flying with cyprus airways..

atm its snowing heavily i wont be suprised it its cancelled if it keeps this weather up for the next few days.. espesially that it is minus 10 further north of england

I did suspect that you would travel with CA. The problems at Heathrow had nothing to do with destinations, just where the planes were parked. They only managed to clear the landing strips and not the taxiig strips or 'parking' lots. Planes could land but passengers could not disembark.
Having said that Stanstead is much smaller. But 4 years ago I travelled to Cyprus in December. Heavy fog closed the airport down, after a 6 hour wait we were transfered by coach to Gatwick.

Again Good Luck.

yes always with Ca. :)

stansted is very close to cambridge and the other airports are further.. i dont mind going from luton airport last time we went fromt here it was just as close.. but heathrow is very far or manchester its very far out of the way.. or gatwick but much bigger and better duty free.

we will see how things are on saturday i thing the snow will be cleared by then. i hope. so you spent 6 hours waiting then traveled to gatwick? that must of been frustrating for you and tiering.

yes they said something about the runways only being closed and not the airport.. i wanted to leave originally on the 5th but the tickets sold out.
