Which beach are you going to? I might bring my surf board myself. 2 weeks of tennis alone might be a bit much.

Johanna Beach maybe? :D

Oppressor? What are you talking about? Turkey is oppressing Cypriots, north and south. Stop spouting nonsense again.

YFred wrote:however the oppressed will maintain alertness to protect the future generations from the same fate.
The hatred is very visible even with this generation even on this forum.

The hatred is due to what Turkey is doing to Cyprus today, and your association with the oppressor. And you'd better believe Cypriots will maintain alertness to protect the future generations from the same fate.

The key to what is happening today,MP,lies in the recent past...
If you refuse to acknowledge those events, and try to make sense of them,
you are doing a disservice to Cyprus...The reason we are stuck in the mud today is because most of the GCs choose to ignore the past events, because they do not reflect positively on them...But ignoring them will not make them go away from the TC collective consciousness...The right thing to do is to examine all aspects of this conflict, learn our lessons, and go forward with those in mind...MP..Think of a turbulent relationship, full of physical and emotional abuse....(dont get defensive here,I am not putting any blame on anyone!) the couple splits us full of bittereness and vindictiveness...a long time passes, with very little direct communication between the couple...No effort to reconcile their past differences,no counselling or reeducation or anything...Than one day one of the partners say "look we have been apart long enough, lets get together again...lets put everything behind, not even think about the past...It was all your fault anyway, but I forgive you...I now have a lovely house and have joined a nice club...Our financial future is secure...Just trust me ,this time we will be very happy....You can tell your big brother to piss off...We dont need him any more...My friends in this new club are all very nice, they will help us along...No,no don't even mention the times I beat the shit out of you....That was a long time ago,and it was your fault anyway, don't forget, your mind might be playing tricks on you, what you think has happened might just be the prodect of your sick mind..... And remember,If your ancestors hadn't come here,we wouldn't be in this mess now...It is really all their fault...What were they doing coming to these lands???"

What do you think is the best way to reunite this couple????
Be honest now, dont answer automatically from your conditioning...Really think about it,and tell me how should this couple go about solving their problems to reunite....

Bir, why do you feel the need to use metaphors? In order to mislead and present yourselves as the innocent and us as the evils? This "couple" metaphor is irrelevant to our problem, but if you like them, here is another such metaphor:

Some brute man brakes into the house of a young woman, against her will, and starts beating the crap out of her. He then takes charge of her house treating this woman as his slave, abusing her, and beating her whenever the poor woman dared to ask for her rights. All the woman would managed to do, while trying to get her rights, was to give this man a few slaps for a few minutes, and then the man would start beating her again. The woman never loved this man, and the man never loved the woman. What he was after was the dowry so he forced the woman to marry him against her will. After the first fight after the forced marriage the man beat again the woman and grabbed half the house and said "This is mine now, and I divorce you". The courts never recognized his crime, and the whole house still legally belongs to the woman, but the man has connections with the mafia and the police and nobody dares to throw him out. He is trying to excuse his actions by saying "Hey, those slaps were really hard! She slapped me! Remember?" But nobody can excuse him because everybody knows that the few slaps the woman gave to him in her effort to gain her rights are nothing compared to the amount of beating he has done against her for years.

After reading this and your last posts the last few weeks you have been posting again iwould say full divorce, give the g/c there 82% t/c can take their 18% and go seperate ways.ROC IN THE EU,"TRNC" WITH HER PIMP tURKEY.

Great...So once again,it is your way or the highway...
And you people dare talk about democracy and human rights....You are not even capable of examining your recent past objectively....You are cutting your nose to spite your face...On your collective heads be it... :(

Its either universally accepted democratic principles as enshrined by the EU Charter, plus equal Human Rights for all citizens, or it's nothing at all!

You can't get any fairer than that!
