The windows generic drivers although work with many devices sometimes are incompatible.

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

If it's a desktop is it a "branded" one or just something put together in a ATX box.

If it all happened after you reinstalled windows, It's pretty certain that the driver is at fault.

Go to

http://in.lgservice.com/

From here click on "Device Drivers"

from the drop down menu choose "notebooks"

then there a two different series's listed as E500

there's the "E500 J,K,V" and the "E500 G,L,S,V" confirm which one you've got then choose the operating system.

All the original drivers will come up, the card reader driver is usually last on the list.

That’ll teach you not to buy LG garbage! Their support site is a joke…

I recommend you start by flashing your BIOS. Click on “device driver” below and select your model. What you need is WinFlash_Vista.Zip but I can’t give you a direct link so find it here…

If this doesn’t fix the problem then you can create and use a Vista Recovery Disk (it’s actually a Vista repair tool disk), to scan/fix Vista itself in case it is faulty.

Good luck.

Look, I doubt you’ll be able to pull this off from the sounds of it…

Perhaps the best solution for you is to copy your files (pictures, documents, music, etc) onto a USB device while you can, and then just reinstall Windows.
