SMOKING BAN IN TRNC

Postby halil » Fri Jan 01, 2010 10:55 pm

And finally a fresh breath of air for everyone.
That’s right good news for non-smokers.
A smoking ban in all closed areas came into force in the TRNC as the clock’s hand struck the first minute of the New Year. The new law which prohibits the smoking of all tobacco products in indoor areas, for the exception of a few specified places came into force today.
According to the new law, smoking is prohibited in all restaurants, cafeterias, diners, kiosks, coffee shops, patisseries and other similar areas.
Within the framework of the law, special designated smoking areas or rooms will have to be created in casinos, bars, discos and night clubs for smokers.
However smoking is completely prohibited in such places if the room is smaller than 50 square meters.
