SOME THOUGHTS

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Bananiot wrote:The citizen of the world

You talk to me about those who got lost
You talk to me about hostile countries
I talk to you about two birds who fell in love
And you only breed insults in your chest

But I am a citizen, a citizen of the whole planet
And a tragic planet, oh my country
Greece, is my neighbourhood, Europe is my State
The Mediterranean a Square of my youth
My mind runs in other places that nobody knows
And in Suns never seen
I search in other galaxies to find those values
I don't want to believe they got lost.

You talk about fights and injustice
About nations with hostile borders
I talk to you about flowers that have fledged
But the fire in your eyes burns them out.

But I am a citizen, a citizen of the whole planet
And a tragic planet, oh my country
Greece, is my neighbourhood, Europe is my State
The Mediterranean a Square of my youth
My mind runs in other places that nobody knows
And in suns never seen
I search in other galaxies to find those values
I don't want to believe they got lost.

Doros Georgiades. He actually put music to it and sung it. One of the best Greek songs in lyrics and sound.

In their thousands Bir they exist . In London alone I know of hundreds that share our vision and the way to achieve it .
Whilst in Cyprus I do involve myself with some aspects of the Cyprob , I do prosecute as it were quite ferociously my dream , yours , Bananiots , Vuryek , The Cypriot , Kikapu , Deniz and a dozen plus from this forum alone. I never allow extreme views to deter my determination and to dictate or alter one iota of my beliefs that this island is ours , the Cypriots , that the hatred cultivated irresponsibly can cause a great deal of damage its unquestionable , that the "motherland" disciples are responsible for a part of our island under occupation is also unquestionable. You can live next to me just as Deniz Iceman and Kikapu can and I can live next to you.
Let us never lose hope.

Bananiot wrote:I am an atheist, I do not consider my self to belong to a nation and I am a meta-leftist (meaning that I moved away form the realm of the left and aspire for a society that is totally free from the bonds of the ideology of statism, one and only party, nationalism and metaphysics). The most important political problem for me is: will Europe move on as a community of national states or will it transform into a multicultural political entity with man at its centre? I choose the latter and I know that a necessary prerequisite for things to move in this direction is through ideology. Politically, I choose to overcome nation states. In the country I live I choose to cross swords with the ideology of the establishment (which I know only too well, for in the past it has turned me into a national Greek). Naturally this is very difficult because the consequences can be huge and you can easily be branded as an enemy of the community. The easy thing to do is to live, lets say in Turkey, and wage a struggle against greekness or, to live in Cyprus and concentrate your fire on the Turkish nation. I write about what GC's did against the Others in this place, in the name of the interests of the nation, but never see the light because they create shock.

P.S. Full moon today, but its a blue moon.

If growing hunger of growing world population nad the anger of this growing world population besides getting lesser food and energy resources don't lead us to a new ww or a chemical warfare... or if that giant meteor doesn't hit the world... or bosses of globalization can't succeed "massacre" 9/10 of world population with their very unique and very difficult to detect methods... yes, EU could have a chance to transform into a multi-cultural, political entity...

However, since the ultimate goal is globalism and one world government with an easily controllable world population; after the "final" world disaster; whole world will be tranformed into a "masters and servants" order...

They just have been waiting the right time comes and carry out the last step of transformation into a one world government...

EU is the evil with an angel face.... it won't take long to show us it's evil face...

Masters of globalism believe in being the most powerful, never losing that power and live the most luxurious life on planet earth by making the servants serve their interests and suffer...

as it stands today the future is uncertain...even more uncertain as the plates are on the move, and proven from past history, the continents joining up again to a one large mass...what will happen then is anyones guess as populations will disappear as places of today will become unliveable...yes a long way to go but surely a certainty...take a llook at the salt mines in polland...200 plus feet undergound...

http://www.cracow-life.com/poland/wieliczka-salt-mines

other factors will come into play as the core is cooling down diminishing with it protrection from harmfull rays...this one not so far away...

and as you correctly stated meteors always play a big part as well...

the question is, will mankind survive or are we going the way of other extinctions...this we will never know...

Maybe we will never know the answer of ur question or we will witness some part of it... Most people lost their personal idendities; personalities under the circumstances of this merciless, capitalist world... This is the most significant extinction of mankind in my opinion... and we r witnessing it's happening...

... when i take into account the globally most probable to occure and all the uncertainities; Cyprus problem loses it's meaning for me... and infact for a while it lost it's previous meaning for me...

... mistakes or beliefs or national causes or interests of all other relevant parties... it doesn't matter to me anymore... it's been almost 55 years all relevant parties have had dialogue to solve the Cyprus problem but instead solving it we all made it more complicated to solve and suffered more...

It's been almost 9 years i have dialogue with GCs on this forum that we mostly disagreed on essentials of Cyprus problem and how it could be solved...

I feel, I've reached a full stop by running around the same circles and going nowhere...

I'm not claiming i was right "u" were wrong but I'd wish to reach a common ground with at least a considerable number of GCs... it didn't happen...

... i imagined myself among the GCs who r dominant and i have opposing views regarding the Cyprus problem and our common historical background ... I concluded that if i ever decide to go and settle down to South or accepting being an "equal" citizen of, let's say i voluntarily accepted so-called RoC as RoC; I would either have to limit my communication with the dominant and highly possible to be harmful group of GCs or a**-licked them for my personal interests... both seemed to me as a self-destruction of my personality that without it i consider myself as a living dead ...

... under such circumstances, when i take into account the rapidly approaching global threats; I decided to live or go somewhere that would satisfy my average needs until the next global disaster occures ...

... although neither North nor Turkey r satisfactory for my average needs; at least I could preserve my personality which is something I can't live without ...

... nevertheless; I took the first step to experience the life of an "equal" citizen in so-called RoC ... Hope it satisfies my average needs though i have even not got just a little bit of impression that it would satisfy my average needs especially regarding the preservation of my personality(not cultrual idendity of a TC) ... but worths trying ... even i have to try because before trying it I won't be able to take the next step...

in the seventies it was tough living as an immigrant in OZ...you couldn't speak your own language or have your own lunch at school in fear of getting ridiculed and in some cases getting your head kicked in...those times are gone...today we thrive on multiculturism...

in the '70 only wogs drunk wine...today OZ is one of the biggest exporters of quality wines, found on just about every dinner table...and this in the space of 20-30 years...

with the roc joining the eu i see, and from this forum is starting to take a foothold...in the next 15 years it will thrive...

every OZ government document is published in every language...i could see the roc evolving in short period of time...maybe a bit early, but in the long term unvoidable if not unstopable...

I'm aware of that western countries getting more civilised and used with multi-culturalism... but on the other hand this positive development has been threatened by especially increasing unemployment and fear of a heavy ranged economical crisis... though this is another issue that is not significantly related with being a TC and living in Cyprus as an "equal" citizen...

What unique to us in Cyprus is; there r at least 2 versions of our common history which is taught at schools and genrally accepted by vast majority of TCs and GCs... Only some leftist historians of 2 communities has taken an unofficial initiative in order to find a common ground for the conflicting and contradicting 2 versions of our common history that were created by the dominant right wing political powers of 2 communities...

Although during the CTP's term in goverment, TC history text-books were revised and cleaned from many elements that were believed feeding the animosity of TC pupils against GCs... though now right wingers r in power and they r preparing to revise TC history books again and most probably won't be better than revision of CTP did... it is clear that there r divergences between TC left and TC right regarding the content and style of narrating our common history...

On the other hand, GC left was also intended to revise GC history text-books that i believe AKEL was sincere wishing to revise the history text-books but unfortunately they were not allowed to do it because either for the sake of "national unity" or fear of losing the government to right wingers with an early election following a chaos on GC history text-books...

This is just one of the most significant problem in front of reunification of Cyprus that neither communally nor bi-communaly the "Cypriots" weren't be able to solve... I don't think it will ever be solved... and as long as this problem not solved, we won't be able to positively advance our communiciation and relations towards reunification... and if one way or another Cyprus problem is solved, this issue will continue to undermine the reunited republic...

It is mainly this issue that pushes TCs to emigrate instead of go and settle down to the so-called RoC ...

I'm sure, this issue will undermine my life environment and psychology too; when i settle and began living in South but against all odds, i want to experience it myself and when necessary take my next step...
