No point discussing anything with you or Oracle...You are so fixed on TCs wanting to justify their gains on your lossess etc etc...I am still waitng for you or Oracle to point out to me personally what I gained in this conflict...I have lost my country,60% to you and 40% to Turkey....Where are my gains??????
Where are my gains?????? where are my gains??????

Best wishes to you too Bir ;)

Gains were those that were given to the TCs with the 1960 agreements, such as 30% of the civil servant positions. And the Turkish side today demands even more gains on our expense, such as 30% of the land and 50% of the power. All these for the 18% of the population.

The lesson you should have learned is that by being greedy and trying to gain too much for yourselves you are provoking the majority of the population and you end up having way less than what you were hoping for.

If you continue acting in this way then you will continue asking "Where are my gains?". Just accept that you can not have any gains on our expense, and that the only solution is to have equal citizens without racist discrimination and that as a community you can have your fair share in land, power etc, which is proportional to your population.

There is no point in looking back in history trying to find excuses to impose in Cyprus something which is not fair. History does NOT give such excuse to you. The sooner you accept this the better for all.

But Piratis, those gains (if they were so) were lost in 1963...Between 1963 and 74 the Tcs were truly endangered species, given the mushroom treatment by the GCs (KEPT IN THE DARK AND FED ON BULLSHIT)...aND YOU NOW ADD INSULT TO INJURY BY REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR PLIGHT...I keep going back to he couple analogy, because you are chosing to ignore that too...If you blame the weaker partner for everything, show no understanding or remorse, refuse to go to counselling together to solve your problems,no amount of vague talk about democracy and human rights will be enough for the estranged partner to trust the other again....I am starting to think that this is your strategy to prevent any solution...You really do not want reunification, you prefer Partition...all you want is to get the maximum share of the land plus compensation by crying faul play, and turning a blind eye to the past events...
You wouldn't be talking about democracy or human rights had 74 never happened and the TCs were still huddled in their chicken pens waiting for someone to acknowledge their plight...We would all die waiting(if Sampson didnt kill us first) and you wouldnt give a damn...

I don't turn a blind eye to the past. I know of the vast crimes you have committed against us as well as the (tiny in comparison) suffering we have caused to you. But unlike you, I am a forgiving person and I am not trying to use the past as an excuse to commit any crimes against you today or in the future.

You are NOT the innocent ones, and for the biggest part of our history (including today) you have not been the "weaker partner" but the extension of Turkey in Cyprus, oppressing and violating the rights of the Cypriot people.

Based on what you demand from us to grand to you our lands and allow you to have gains on our expense?

See, this is why your thinking is flawed.

Why is 60% of the Island, which is freely, democratically governed according to EU guidelines for equality and respect of human rights, where so many other ethnic groups feel safe to come and live and work, suddenly lost to you just because you want to pretend it is only for GCs? (to suit your "oh woe is me, poor TC" attitude)

There are many TCs living in Paphos ... you can join them, but you choose NOT to because you secretly yearn for the unjust advantages you had (as an Ottoman ruler/privileged TC) which you perceive as your rights, now "lost".

You are a spoilt child, Bir! To the naughty step with you ...

There you go again,Oracle...Denial of the past, over generalisations, mind reading, furtune telling.... all serious cognitive distortions associated with PTSD...I repeat my plea to you...Get some professional help, letting off steam on this forum is no subtitute for therapy...

None of the above fit with anything I have said. You are not even bothering to read.

If that is your serious answer, than you are not worth debating with as you fail to see the flaws in your "logic".

But, what could I expect .....

You are clearly accusing the (60%) of the RoC as only representing GCs. That is wrong!

I see you have no reply (again) ... merely diagnosing others with your own afflictions. The only true thing you said was to let us know how unwell you are ... we did not point this out to you first, it seems you knew. Just don't try and pin the cause on Cyprus or you will never get better. There is no need to take you seriously.

As you said earlier: This is mind reading...

You can not argue with what I say so you prefer to argue with your own fantasies.

It is you who wants revenge, trying to remind us of how you suffered for that 1 decade and try to excuse in this way yet more crimes against us. On the other hand I am ready to forgive you for the far more crimes you committed against us, and I demand no punishment for you.

If I may interject here, the above is the nub of the Cyprus Problem. Both sides see the other as having the upper hand.

Turkish Cypriots say that GCs do not understand how fearful they are because of the way they were treated pre 1974.

Greek Cypriots say that the TCs don't understand how fearful they are OF TURKEY bearing in mind that country's treatment of Greeks for hundreds of years.

The matter is compounded by the fact that Turkish nationalists required the TCs to become victims of the other community in order to achieve their aims - some stupid Greek Cypriots obliged.

Hmmm, that's a good way of putting things, Jerry. And thanks to those stupid Greek Cypriots you mentioned, the situation on the island of partiton and mistrust prevails. Problems are easy to cause but harder to solve...

Another way would be to blame Turkish nationalists who wanted the TCs to become victims of the other community, of course.

A picture of Denky posted here recently reminded me that he and my late father share similar facial features, perhaps he is really a Greek in denial, or I'm part TC
