As smokers will not be allowed to smoke in bars, cafes and restaurants, their clientele will drop down significantly and in turn to make ends meet they will have to close or put prices up. So don't complain when an espresso will cost more then 3.50 euro and a pint of beer 5+ euro.

I've just taken my friend and his kids (1, 4½ and 6) back to the airport - you know, I'd hoped for a bit more intelligent banter than I've suffered for the past week but I'm not getting it from Z4.

If you want intelligent banter then start talking some sense please. You seem to believe that passive smoking is not bad, does not cause any dangers to non-smokers, you also believe that smokers have rights to smoke in public. You are wrong, they have had the right to smoke in public for many many years now and now it is the time for non smokers to enjoy clean air when out!

If you remember (I'll remind you just in case), each and every one of your ridiculous claims (like one single inhalation of second hand smoke will cause damage to your health) have been met with proof to the contrary.

When all the smoke has died down, and all you non- smokers are happy that the law is being enforced rigidly. You can feel safe in the knowledge that you have given the smokers in this world no freedom of choice (one in five adults still smoke in the UK) and can carry on buying your cheap supermarket booze to drink at home knowing that if you do occasionally frequent a pub that it will be smoke free.
Unbeknown to you there is an increasing backlash to this in the Uk and in Ireland , that country pubs still continue to allow smoking regardless of the consequences due to the fact that it has been commercial suicide contrary to the propaganda that ASH funded by the Government likes to put out in their anti smoking drivel

If they put the prices up any more no-one will enter their business. They could tempt us in - so why don't they offer us some great deals or offers??

Maybe they will see more and more non smokers coming out and eating/drinking.

Isn't about time that non smokers had the right to eat/drink smoke free?

Another one, supermarkets offer cheap booze. Why pay 3 Euros for a beer in a bar when they cost 1 Euro in the Supermarket?
