REACTIONS TO CHRISTOFIAS’S FLAG COMMENTS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Malapapa, there is another quote attributed to Sam Houston just before Texas seceeded from the Union before the American Civil War: "When the rabble hiss, well may patriots tremble". Close to the signature quote you use from Winston Churchill...

Palio, I'm not a Turkish Cypriot (as I keep repeating), and yes, I do know that the RoCy flag was designed by a Turkish Cypriot. Politically speaking, the flag is quite profound (and I do keep one in my collection of flags). The trouble is that the flag represents an ideal that in essence had ceased to exist in 1963...

I believe it was another secession opposer, James Webb Throckmorton. And he and Houston would have had the last laugh when the Confederates were finally defeated and union was restored a few years later.

Unfortunately, he never lived to see the Union victory. He died in 1863, spurned by his two sons who were loyal supporters of the Confederacy.

...i remember Solomou, hideous if you're talking flags.

I wonder how the TC designer of the flag would feel if he knew his flag was used by killers of his people.

Never a truer word spoken skidmark. The tc designer of the so called "trnc" flag must be horrified to find out that its used by turkish soldiers who butchered his Cypriot compatriots.
