How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You want to say that to the members of FIAV, NAVA, FOTW, or to eminent people like Dr. Whitney Smith of the Flag Research Center?

For the benefit of your room-temperature IQ, Boomerang, Vexillology (derived from the latin word 'Vexillium', meaning 'standard') is a serious subject. You can tell a lot about a country's culture and history by their flags and symbols. There are a lot of flag enthusiests, collectors, and researchers, and I'm proud to be one of them. I've written several research papers, and made presentations of several of my papers to several conferences. I am also the designer of the flag of the International Australian Football Council.
Now, you may find this really hard to believe, but one of my favorite flags is the National Flag of Greece! Asthetically, it is one of the more pleasing flags to the eye. The current national flags of Australia and New Zealand do not impress me, whilst my favorite flag of all is that of the United States of America.

The "brutal" display of this monstrosity on the mountainside has nothing whatsoever to do with the people , the true T/Cs , the indigenous to Cyprus T/Cs who still consider their motherland and the motherland's flag , designed by a T/C , to be Cyprus and not some third world destined part of Cyprus administered by a nation that debated for a whole mounth whether its women folk would wear or not a head scarf.
This monstrosity does not represent the T/Cs that I know and neither is it a symbol of "independence" as someone suggested , it is unquestionably an eye sore , graffiti of cheap taste and indicative of the third world mentality of those responsible for its existence , the Turkish military.

My dear boy, if you examine this flag carefully you will observe that it is the flag of the Republic of Turkey in reverse. Add this to the fact that the TRNC flag never flies on its own, but in tandem with the Turkish flag, and there is a very powerful symbolic message there waiting for you to decipher.

Tim, the reversed colors make it distinctive. Who confuses the Red Cross with the flag of Switzerland?
