How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Expatkiwi » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:42 pm

It's really interesting reading some of the posts here on this forum that place every square inch of blame for the Cyprus Problem on the Turks and that they are totally barbaric. Judging from all of the history records of post-WW2 in Cyprus, it wasn't the Turks or the British who threw away the rulebook of civilized warfare in Cyprus: it was EOKA and their Greek supporters.

Why don't you expand on that?

Rulebook of civilised warfare

1) Do not invade sovereign nations (fact)
2) DO not occupy sovereign nations (fact)
3) Do not cleanse entire regions from one specific ethnic group. (fact)
4) Do not execute civilians (an personally verify this with names and location)
5) Do not fire napalm on towns and villages (can verify this with names and location)
6) Do not throw the bodies of those you did execute down unused wells (starting to sound like a bomb going off in a baghdad the frequency with which GC bodies are found down wells.)
7) Do not rape teenage and disabled girls (Doctor that carried out a large chunk of the abortions after the invasion is my mother in law, currently writing a book on her experience)
8 ) Do not block the rightful owners from returning to their property
9) DO not bring settlers to take the rightful owners property

Many more but I'll stop there. If expatkiwi requires me to expand with proof on any of these please let me know.

from our dear friends the Brits

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/turki ... 07578.html

execution of civilians:

Aziz Gece, a Turkish- Cypriot businessman, says: "If the Turkish army had come a day later I would be dead now." The "invasion" ended the worst outbreak of intercommunal violence the island has seen. Mr Gece lived in the Turkish quarter of Larnaca, now in the south, which came under Greek-Cypriot mortar attack.

.....

"Cypriotness is a myth," says the Northern Cyprus foreign minister, Tahsin Ertugruloglu.

"The only thing we have in common with the Greek- Cypriots is that we inhabit the same island."

As the GCs did exact same thing, with the exception of napalm and as if they had any they would have used such said weapon, there is only one thing to say. Kechi guldu Koyuna ( The goat laughed at the sheep).

Oi, get off my thread with your arguing! This is about peace and harmony (?) in 2010.

CF has a policy of minimal intervention by the Mods, but that only works when there is some self-discipline amongst posters. So, I really look forward to a lazy 2010 even though Mr Admin has bought me a brand new 'DELETE' button for the New Year :-)

However. whatever your beliefs and opinions, I wish all forum members Joy and Peace in the real world, in 2010.

I hope you have a wonderful new year Lana.

I also hope that your new DEL button will be redundant - that'll be a laugh.

"Ifs" and "buts" don't mean a thing against the actual!

Now get over yourselves and your wanton exaggerations, and take responsibility for feeding your greed on other people's property; nothing more.
