I don't know for Cyprus, but in Spain if you buy a house and you cannot pay the mortgage the bank will auction the property and if the product of the auction did not cover your debt YOU HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE with any other properties or goods you may have.

Just an update on current proceedings, we have been to court several times, so far just awaiting
courts demands,
we are using cyprusrepossessions.net

Seem to be helpfull, I will let you know how we get on.
