RACIST BANANA REPUBLIC

Postby Bananiot » Thu Dec 24, 2009 7:26 pm

Two people died in Cyprus today, as a result of road accidents. I heard the news on two different radio stations. One was "Astra" the supposedly progressive radio with progressive journalists. Normally, these kind of stories make first news and one would have expected that the radios would have given the tragic deaths of these people, on the eve of Xmas, as their main story. Yet, they were among the last stories.

I was driving with my son when we heard the news and I said to Chris "that's odd, normally these are top stories". "Just wait and see, was Chris's response, the victims must have been foreigners". Sure enough they were foreigners and their lives are not worth a fraction of Cypriot lives, according to our infamous MME.

P.S. Shall I spell out my point FD?

where as in the invaded north they wouldent have been mentioned at all...

in england/america they wouldent have got a mention either...

poor people.. may they r.i.p. my main concern would be for the peopels families not for when it was mentioned in the news.. they diesd they must be mentioned first stop everything and mention the dead people.. they wouldent even mention the cypriots first.

xaras to prama..

the sad truth is no one cares when complete strangers die and are mentioned on the news even if they are cypriot foreginers whatever they are.. unless they where famous or important of course

i think his point was that if it was a cypriot person they would of made the news and they would of been mentioned first but since it was foreigners they where mentioned last so the cypriot radio stations are being racist for mentioning them last..

which is...

Cyprus is about the size of a local TV channel's range in the UK. On that, road traffic accidents (fatalities only) tend to be aired first/early on ... but the National accidents are not. This is purely pragmatic because the local people are more likely to know the locals who got killed than they are to know somebody 500 miles away!

Get a grip Bananiot ... you are making a fool of yourself with your tunnel parochial vision.

clothing line?:S there is a clothing line called bannana republic?

but he says its a bannana republic because two foreigners died and the radio left the news until last where as with cypriots they would say the news first before anything else.. so because of that , it means the cyprus is a bannana republic...

this is coming from a very pro tc partition person who loves everything tc.
