No, its comes from Mayan people, which are indigenous people of Mexico and other countries in Central America. Part of which I'm mixed with. I'm also mixed with Spanish blood too among others. Merry Christmas to u too! I just came back from church.

Well, Cyprus has nothing to do with the term 'banana republic'. A banana republic is pejorative term for a country that is politically unstable, dependent on limited agriculture (e.g. bananas), and ruled by a small, self-elected, wealthy, and corrupt clique.

Here's a link for the clothing line Banana Republic: Banana republic is a pejorative term for a country that is politically unstable, dependent on limited agriculture (e.g. bananas), and ruled by a small, self-elected, wealthy, and corrupt clique.[1] I miss them. I'm tall and they have a tall clothing line for women which I would order from. I can barely find any clothes in Cyprus that fits me. :(

Maya, I suggest you ask ex president Glafkos Klerides. He was the one that coined the term for Cyprus back in the 90's while he was the President. He wanted to point out that in some respects, the way we do things, resembles the way things get done in a banana republic.
