Poreia enantion thn lathrometanatefsi

March against ILLEGAL immigrants...it then speaks of 1 foreigner 1 jobless in the illegal immigrant context.

Globalization didn't start today Bananiot. And if you think it is not natural for people to react when they are forced to settle for a lifestyle much lower than what they are used then maybe you are not living on planet earth.

How many times have we seen strikes by people who are extremely highly paid (e.g. Pilots) because they were not willing to accept a lower salary? And you teachers get your fat salaries (ATA adjusted) every month - I want to see what you would do if it was suggested a 20% pay cut for your profession. You would go Bananas. ;) Just because your kind of jobs are not part of the open market and you are not threatened by Globalization this doesn't mean you should not be able to see the viewpoint of others.

Assumptions Piratis, just assumptions. If this and if that. In the meantime you think that racism is a natural development, under the circumstances.

We have seen many times Pilots striking because they would not accept a pay cut. Nobody dared to propose the same for teachers but it is obvious that they would react the same.

And I didn't say that "racism is a natural development". On the contrary I said that the poor immigrants should never be blamed. What I said is that it is natural for the middle-low class of developing countries to react to globalization and demand from their state to protect them.

SKI-preo, I guarantee you that nobody would react if the immigrants were doing only "the crappy jobs no modern day Cypriot would do" (e.g. Housemaids).

This is the way I see it: In our world there are the very rich (less than 1% of the population), the middle and low class people of the developed countries, and then the much poorer people of the developing countries.

You have to be careful when u say this. This is an old mindset...thats there's this big gap between first world and developing countries. This was correct based on information from the 1950's....not now. We are entering 2010. Developing countries are coming along.

You can watch these two informative videos from Dr. Rosling. How I love TED!!!!

Off course the SITE stinks and their organisation has a stench...but this march being carried out is against illegal immigrants not against all foreigners.

We're not discussing their general beliefs, you started a thread about this march and you might be misleading people with your title.
