I sympathise with TCs but...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I would have to agree with you here. They are being rather interfering and politically overbearing for a 'protective' power. If Turkey does indeed recognize TRNC as a sovereign nation, they should be consulting with the Talat Administration rather than unilaterally making their own policy decisions that effectively sidelines President Talat and his government. That kind of behavior simply gives more credence to the claim that Turkey is more an occupier of TRNC than an ally of TRNC.

Jesus, what happened to you, Expat? You're almost starting to talk sense.

Palio, pls add to my list of false choices:
It's because of Turkey/Greece/EU/UN/US/Russia/Church/Mosque/Ahmet's mother/Theo's father whose meddling is stopping us from reaching a satisfactory conclusion

The fact that Malap insists on acting stupid screams out to me where the problem is currently floundering.

turkey is to blame for putting the tmt to put bombs for the tcs and start wars with gcs.. eoka was stupid and did not just sit back and let tmt make fools of gcs after the tcs looted and destroyed gc shops and buildings when they thought gcs put the bomb.

but greece was also to blame for giving an excuse to turkey to invde with the whole junta and enosis crap

but from reaching a solution its all turkey... turkey who keeps insisting on two states turkey who keeps an army here keeping cyprus hostage turkey who keeps putting foward unthinkable demands and tries to threaten eu and blackmail and beg them so they can have two states and keep military here.. this is NOT turkey they have no rights to cyprus and destroying our island like the other occupiers of cyprus tried to do and FAILEd

Yes. It's all my fault. I am advocating that Cypriots of whatever background (including you if you are one) should not be expected to compromise on hard fought for freedoms and fundamental human rights to accommodate Turkey and her lackeys in the north. If this makes me stupid then the whole world has gone mad.

Acikgoz. Get out of my sight.

Sorry Palio, Turkey does not control TCs. All polls show TCs would like Turkey to be guarantor, etc.
Cyprus is nothing but headache and costs to Turkey. Turkey has many negative qualities but on its desire to see a SAFE solution to the Cyprus problem it is 100% in the right.

Funnily enough the national newspapers were distancing the govt. from the Cyprus problem, now GCs have made it so personal they've upped the stakes and making it necessary for Turkey to justify the protection of TRNC.

I mean, if GCs cannot see that Turkey has to insist on freedom of trade for north Cyprus at the same time as opening ports to GCs then reality has been replaced with megalomaniac delusion of grandeur - not a zero sum game now, the outcomes are lose -lose.

Malap the simplicity of your comment to a complex problem is about as relevant as one of my nieces or nephews that are aged 7-9 would make. Grow up.

Why should anyone care about you and your trade if you don’t abide by UN Resolutions dude?

UN RESOLUTION 361 (1974)

UN RESOLUTION 541 (1983)

That's your opinion and is far from the truth.

All polls show TCs would like Turkey to be guarantor, etc.

They are controlled by Turkey and wish to continue to be controlled by Turkey.

Turkey doesn't give guarantees for free!
