I sympathise with TCs but...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Stop telling me how I think or feel... Don't judge me by your own amoral standards.

If I did sympathise, what exactly? I'd accept these?

• jeopardize hard fought freedoms secured by EU membership?
• give away human right to properties belonging to me in the north?
• accept derogations to EU law which no other EU citizens would countenance?
• relinquish the principle of universal suffrage?
• open the door for Turkey to interfere in the domestic affairs of the whole island?
• give Turkey's military the right to intervene once more, as it did in 1974 with disastrous consequences?

Stop talking out of your butt.

So what you are saying is next time your B25s and Oracles and the rest of the Eoka-Crap attack and start killing TCs, Turkey should have no right to intervene. I beg to differ old chap. If you don't attack then I suspect Turks will not intervene, unless you consider taking their oil in the med, in which case I don't really care.

Stop repeating the tired old VP mantra and address the points I have put to you, one by one. Put my mind at rest that this isn't the agreement Turkey wants. Convince free Cypriots to vote "Yes".

You dont have the capacity to vote YES to jack shit, so dont kid yourselves the chasm is to wide to bridge time you realized this fact and moved on to understanding that you cannot get us to capitulate to your demands and dump the TRNC for minority status in a GC state run by GCs, we can have that tomorrow by just moving south but no one does, that speaks volumes its just that you GCs are so deaf from your own crap that you cannot see anything.

I present specifics, you respond with patt answers. Boring... and nothing new.

YFred. Stop living in the 1960s. The next time B25 and Oracle attack you I'll round them all up and shoot them myself.

Likewise... my point is no one's going to go around killing anyone. And Turkey will be granted intervention rights over our dead body! Well, yours and B25s, since YFred mentioned you by name. Can't think why he'd want to single you two out in particular when you're both so reasonable in your approach.

Yfred continues to use the excuse that the evil GC are going to attack the TCs, what utter bollocks, I have no intention of causing anyone any harm, but I won't be pissed upon like these guys are trying to do.

Fjocks, singled me and oracle out, because he doesn't like to be told bluntly that he is a bloody murdering moron and talks out of his arse most of the time. TCs live, work and visit the RoC freely without harm or hinderance and he continues to beat the 'attacking' drum. In actual fact, it is the GCs that need the protecting.

the red lines you have shown above are exactly what the TCs and Turks want from us, did you see any of them deny it, or question them, no, they immediately attacked the poster as a dreamer. This shows THEIR mindset, never mind ours.

Rubbish. These are Turkey's so-called Red Lines.

Viewpoint wrote:and these are excuses for not finding a solution the world is realizing exactly who is bullshiting and it aint the TCs.

The world, which you have no direct access to because of the stanglehold Turkey has you in, realises no such thing. And even if the world perceives it is free Cypriots who are bullshitting, which it doesn't, what good does this do you?

Please explain, point by point, why what I say isn't true for free Cypriots in the agreement Turkey is insisting on. I'll repeat them one more time for you:

• jeopardize hard fought freedoms secured by EU membership?
• give away their human right to properties belonging to them in the north?
• accept derogations to EU law which no other EU citizens would countenance?
• relinquish the principle of universal suffrage?
• open the door for Turkey to interfere in the domestic affairs of the whole island?
• give Turkey's military the right to intervene once more, as it did in 1974 with disastrous consequences?

The solution currently under negotiation is a BBF with political equality, which by definition addresses the concerns that VP and YFred are putting forward (i.e. GC domination, supression etc).

I think the question is whether such a solution can be found without affecting the fundamental human rights of GCs so badly that this is rendered unacceptable to GCs.

My position has always been that the only way forward is a BBF which is made as "painless" as possible for GCs (as the very concept of a BBF is already a vast compromise by GCs and by definition guarantees that TCs will not be "dominated", which is their main concern). Such a BBF would inter-alia address most of the points you raise above.

See YFred? You make unreasonable, unacceptable demands and you get people reacting in kind.

B25 wrote:TCs live, work and visit the RoC freely without harm or hinderance and he continues to beat the 'attacking' drum.

Of course the whole world has grown weary of the old-fashioned beat. People have moved on from the 1960s, except for advocators of the "TRNC", the stolen land that time forgot.

If no one is prepared to address and counter the points raised, one by one, then you may well be right, (repeated below for ease of reference):

• jeopardize hard fought freedoms secured by EU membership;
• give away human right to properties in the north;
• accept derogations to EU law which no other EU citizens would countenance;
• relinquish the principle of universal suffrage;
• open the door for Turkey to interfere in the domestic affairs of the whole island;
• give Turkey's military the right to intervene once more, as it did in 1974 with disastrous consequences.
