im sorry to hear that!
But i dont blame them for leaving. i would of done the same had i been alive during the war and the conflicts with the turks. Even afterwards for years i am told it was very dangerous and from what i read and see the turks tried to pull army men into the buffer zone to have excuse to kill them ( youtube)..i dont talk about it with my family what happened they like you have a large family and half moved to england and half stayed in cyprus.. mums side is much smaller family.. they all stayed in cyprus and never left.

but the truth is our side of the family that we all stayed in cyprus nothing happened to us and we where fine.. but of course they did not know that at the time and also some left and then went back to cyprus after there was no more scared of threats from turks.. they forget their mother tongue and learn to hate cyprus and love england.

i bet some turks would see north to south traveling to abroad..

for me .. I have been to

Canada ( for one month)

Guatemala ( last trip was for 4 months)

Amsterdam .. ( only for a layover .. I doubt that counts lol )

CYPRUS !! .. ( the place I wish to call home

Anyway, I guess I've lived a bit of a sheltered life!!!
Denmark, Netherlands, France, Spain, Majorca, Italy, Bulgaria, Isle of White (well my parents said it was abroad from the UK as we had to go on a boat!!! :lol:
