How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Genuine reconciliation will come after genuine payback. It's the only way, I'm afraid. And genuine payback is going to be very expensive, make no mistake. Collectively punishing innocent people leads to this kind of thing.

And stop turning this into a GC verses TC thing. It's a displaced people verses those responsible for displacing them, thing.

So the displaced people (GCs) want to take it out on those responsible for displacing them (the Turkish Army)??

 Yes, the individual mehmetchiks, on their soldier salaries... that's who'll be paying.

For a minute I thought we were getting somewhere.

If you want compensation (from Turkey or anywhere else) then good luck to you and I'm sure some of you deserve it. I have always supported compensation as the way to go. However, if you want people homeless just to satisfy your sense of outrage, you are just playing the displacement game all over again.

People have a right to their property. This cannot be taken away. If you want those rights relinquished then there will be a heavy, heavy price to pay. And all those responsible for displacing them (or for not preventing or reversing their displacement), including Turkey, Greece, Britain, the USA, EU and NATO members, had better start digging real deep.

It's not about revenge, payback, compensation or anything else.. IF a solution is found, then everyone will regain use of their own properties, if they so wish. Fullstop.
