The opinion that TC language, culture and the people themselves were being wiped out by Turkey was made by a TC... I mean if it's OK for a TC to have an opinion that doesn't correspond to your regime's wishes.

You obviously dont know the TRNC everyone has an opinion whats it to you people..you have nothing to do with with TRNC...

This is a Cyprus Forum. We're discussing Cyprus. Now if "TRNC" is out of bounds for discussion then I suggest you remove yourself and your "TRNC" opinions, and place them here where they belong:

http://www.terrylove.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3

Then stick to the Cyprus problem and not our internal affairs they have nothing to do with GCs. Shall we discuss how shitty the GC south is?

The erosion of Cypriot culture in the north; "internal" affairs? Not part of the Cyprus problem? Viewpoint, I don't think you believe what you're writing so the chances of convincing me to believe it are zero.

As for how things are in the free part of Cyprus, open a thread if you must. This thread is about all the bans and restrictions taking place in the north which are very much part of the Cyprus problem.

Re: IKEA brochures

It appears that IKEA legally imported 24,000 brochures into the TRNC, having obtained an import licence and paying import duty. The brochures fished out of Kyrenia harbour may have been deposited there by people who were supposed to distribute them locally and found it easier to throw them into the sea.

Poor action, do not agree with the ban as I don't see basic morals being attacked but such print.

I am amazed however that trawling through the pages of comments, I haven't seen this action as being realised as this is the new direction the island is going towards. The action is obviously not one of progress between bodies but the exact opposite. People warned that if promises weren't kept by the EU then TCs would eventually learn not to trust it. If the negotiations continued to go nowhere then belief in them will turn to dis-belief and new paths sought.

The partitionists will be further entrenched and probability increases that no solution is a solution will remain the solution. The EU's actions do not make it a beacon of light for Turkish Cypriots as it's actions ignore the known realities.

To me this is sad given I'd rather be at peace and prosperity with my neighbour, as a Turkish Cypriot long term it makes sense. However if my neighbour continues to show disrespect whilst ignoring their negative contribution to the real issues then I am not surprised by the direction we are taking. 5 and a half years more have passed since Annan's Plan. The new TC government will be happy to do the minimal to show they are working for a solution, as will the new President so add on another 5 years.

This is what I believe should be flagged up by such an action, instead the catty name calling, the constant pressure without self evaluation.

Do GCs not read the news? Perhaps, but some may argue that they are just acting out of their "super ego".
“Yes, there is censorship in Cyprus. But when film directors censor their co-workers, where will it take us?” added film director Yiannis Ioannou.

Great insight Wyoming - been on the planes a little too long I'd say - stupid cows make for poor conversation I assume, hard to change the course of years of hatred and bigotry when the RoC has so many sheep - sorry cows in your case.
Most people have worked out that the Greek Cypriots were guilty of many acts of terror that helped wholeheartedly to the current situation that Cyprus finds itself in. Maybe time to change that broken record and look at what GCs have done lately for humanity and brotherly peace on the island.

GR - Expanding for you:
Wyoming Cowboy has made some useless comments. In respect to his title as a cowboy, I immediately visualised one of those hick cowboys that are out on the plains (kinda like Wyoming). His comments are the same racist drivel dished out by GC politicians and church - and we make reference to sheep when describing someone that doesn't think for themselves.
GCs that harp on about Turkey and TCs really need to address their own contribution to the mess.
Clear enought for you?!

But GCs have moved on from “the mess” and gone on to bigger and better things, whereas the TCs and Turkey are still playing the same fiddle… maybe that’s why you’re getting mocked eh?

If that's what you think then why is this situation #1 on GCs topic of conversation?

Engage brain before tapping fingers on keyboard, take a swipe whatever it makes you look like. You again can be accused for contributing rubbish over stubstance.
