If not, devise a simple test poll or questionnaire to prove it isn't. Ball is in your court.

Then we can put this thread to rest.

There's nothing misleading in my statements...

Really? Which of the following 2 statements is closest to the truth?

1. Kurds were persuaded to fight for a secular republic and in accordance with their wishes, they got a secular republic
2. Kurds were deceived to fight for a Kurdish-Turkish brotherhood state and against their wishes, a Kurd-free secular republic was violently forced upon them.

C'mon Insan, no cut and paste required! No big essay required!

What is your answer ? 1 or 2 ?
"Closest" does not mean "exact".

IKEA Banned By Turkish Regime

Postby bill cobbett » Wed Dec 23, 2009 4:53 pm

Not content with just dumping thousands of IKEA catalogues in Kyrenia Harbour the Occupation Regime has now banned all IKEA products crossing the checkpoints.

Looks like the Turkish Army Controlled "police" will be "confiscating" goods and refurbishing their homes.

The CY Mail reports ....

Why?

The Turkish Cypriot spokesman said his ‘ministry’ had repeatedly called on Turkish Cypriots to “buy local”, noting that such calls were economically, rather than ethnically motivated. He clarified that the authorities were trying to protect local producers during an economic crisis, not stop people from shopping in the free areas. He added that as long as competition was “fair”, the Turkish Cypriot authorities would not seek to stop it.

No need to exagerate and politicize the issue eh?

In the 60s, there were some similar exagerators and abusers who shitted in the RoC in 3 years time... Were u one of them reh Billy C?

But if the people can't "buy local" of the products they need & want and can be found in the south, then the so called minister's argument falls flat on it's face regarding the economy, then it does become ethnically motivated. Are you going to force people to buy what the north has to sell whether they are good or bad and whether the people want them or not, because that choice is already available for them, and they have chosen to shop at IKEA instead.

I agree with u... instead baning they should do something to compete with the economy of South... but is it that easy under the economic cirumstances of North?

Yeni Düzen reports that the TRNC government, without stating any reason, has prevented the European Union Diary from being distributed to students. A Turkish translation of this diary was prepared specially for the benefit of Turkish Cypriots (pictured below) and students were to receive free copies.

Image

The Diaries probably talked about Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Movement, True Democracy, Human Rights, International Laws, EU Principles, Legal States, Morality, Corruption, Human & Drug Trafficking, Right to enjoy one's own property, Ethnic Cleansing, Rule of Law, One man One vote Principles, EU Privileges to all EU citizens, Illegal Regimes, and Racist Fascist NeoPartitionist.!

I think just the "Freedom of the Press" was enough to ban these Diaries in the north at the request from Bayrak, no doubt, since they do not like to report anything that is in line with the International norms on accuracy or use of any Journalistic Integrity in their reporting as we can see each time when Halil gives us samples at regular basis here on the forum.!

Yeah, it's called a peace settlement based on western values and the EU Principles, otherwise the north will never be able to compete with anyone, not even with their poorer cousins in Turkey and instead will keep spiralling further downwards economically and politically.!
