I believe Turkey has mandatory life sentences for people convicted of honor killings. To be fair, this really isn't something that appears particularly palatable to Turks generally speaking.

Well, what do you expect them to say - "we're assholes?"

These killings occur everywhere. My point is strictly intended to address some name-calling at Turks when in fact, Turkey appears to have laws to address it.

I think one would find that the vast majority of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis would not condone this crime. It's a case where a few really bad apples make the whole bunch stink.
