I have to agree a bit too serious but honestly no diffrent than any other christian religon.

Other than the fact that they TRULY believe in both what they practice and preach regardless of the derision they oft suffer as a result of such.

I had the pleasure of attending a 'Convention' at the Twickenham Stadium some time ago, it was quite astonishing to note that, upon vacating the venue, not one scrap of litter was visible although many thousands were in attendance.

Strangely enough, the same scenario (though on a lesser scale) can be seen subsequent to any meetings in Cyprus.

Perhaps such a demonstration of unity might be worth cultivating elsewhere. (IMHO)

No they do not

First JW's do not celebrate birthdays at all.

Second JW's beleive that Jesus's birth was not in December.

yes they do, I have family that are JW

Also Christmas, so you know, is indeed on the 7th January. 25th of December was a pagan holiday and was much easier to celebrate on that day. Please get you facts right before you start posting.

Does your family celebrate birthdays or christmas?

I was raised as a JW for 12 years of my life in the US that is how it is done here and from the publications produced in Bethel about Christmas is not celebrated by JW's. Agian i say this is in the US.

I did not mean to step on anyones toes.

How does your family acknowledge these days?

The question was asked about the celebration of Christmas.

I appologize if I sounded rude in any of the above posts.

I was not trying to argue with you about this.

No problem you are not being rude.

The problem with the JW is that it is all doom and gloom, they sit around waiting for the second coming and believe that they are the chosen people. It is sad really.

You have family that are JW's and they tell you that there is a second comming? that is not what is beleived by JW's
Its not doom and gloom its a faith in a better world to come.
JW's will not be the only ones to take part in the better world that they beleive in either.

lol? Because of no liter done you say its a good thing? or maybe its the reason of their culture?

News flash m8 but this has nothing to do culture or anything. Its the way you are raised by you parents.

And liter is all about respecting your surroundings. And I am one of them who respects it. But don't say its because from culture. It all comes down to the fact how your parents raised you.

As one who has family that have been JWs for over 30 years I can comment on my own experience.
My older brother's wife along with 3 of their children are devout witnessess .
All 3 of the children , adults now , have children a total of 5 . Two have now moved to Australia one remains in the UK.
They are all familiar with my views on their brand of religion and the fact that I'm convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that their religion and their conviction alone are responsible for the fact that all of their offsprings do not even know their uncles and aunties , the fact that social occasions such as birthdays , Xmas , Easter , New Years day are frowned upon means that we do not interact as families ought to. To think that I would fly 4000 miles to be at grandsons birthday and yet these first class brainwashed zombies don't give a damn. I do see my sister in law and where in the past we would argue fiercely , both now avoid touching on matters relating to the nonsense that they believe in.
There are around 6 million JWs in the world , only 600 thousand will be spared when the end of the world comes !!
A bunch of brainwashed individuals and quite hypocritical too.
My late wife had no time for them , I however continued to interact and ignore their stupid faith. Having dinner tomorrow at my brothers house , I'm always made welcome by my sister in law who although knows my views totally brushes them aside for the sake of the family.
