Should I take a hike?

Postby Expatkiwi » Tue Dec 15, 2009 10:23 pm

Certain people have been making their displeasure about my inputs in this forum rather plain (partly because of my support for TRNC, partly because I'm a non-Cypriot). After thinking about it for a bit, I'll put the question out to all you folk out there who contribute to the forum: Do you think that I should leave this forum? If the majority vote is yes, then I'll bid adieu. Fair enough?

Isnt the question wrong, you ask whether you should be allowed on the forum yet you say if the vote is YES you will leave, why?

Why is the only option to leave?

You've been criticised for ignoring evidence and sticking to hearsay. That's wrong in anyone. But the solution is to address the 'problem' not walk away from it.

Problem: We have yet to see you question the fodder force-fed to you by Denktash et. al.

Are you capable of being discerning?

If you have some ulterior motive for supporting the "TRNC", such as pay, or blackmail ... then piss off! But if you truly want to make an informed decision about the situation, you have to learn to evaluate what you are presented.

Personally, I'm not sure you have the intellectual capacity or depth of (general) knowledge to be an informed outsider (e.g. like Talisker) but you could start slowly ...

Oughtn't you to check with Ralph first?

I vote you stay and get some input from the archbishop to balance your views.

I don't understand how any free thinking person who has no Cypriot roots can post as you do - unless you are a carpetbagger. I don't bother to read some of your posts because they are so predictable, I think you are infected with the British belief that the underdog needs your support but you ignore the fact that in ROC/Turkey relations the former is at a serious disadvantage. You also ignore the history of Greek- Turkish animosity outside the island. I'm not referring to 1571 or even 1830 take a look at:

http://www.ellopos.com/blog/?p=98

http://chicago.agrino.org/turkish_pogro ... greeks.htm

Events such as these are indicative of Turkey's attitude towards Greeks and Greek Cypriots. The problem between the two communities on the island is, in the main, the fault of those who roused the few extremists that kick-started the inter-communal struggle..

I don' care if you stay or go, your posts are predictable, meaningless and unworthy of my vote.
