Absolutely true... you only get out of life what you put in!!
Things come to those who are patient, and willing to try looking at things from outside the box... :D

Agreed Phill. Times are changing and we have to change with them, nothing lasts for ever. I should know!

During my experience in cyprus i have realised that most people and i mean most people are so UNHAPPY. everyone is complaining saying the same things. its too expensive, there is no money, there is no business, what am i doing here, evryone is trying to scam everyone, everyone is looking for that get rich scheme, You can just see what kind of mind set there in when your driving around the roads....no pne stops at a red light, always beeping when the fuking light is still red...everyone looks so stressed and dehydrated like a wrinlked prune coz they dont know or no time to take care of themselves. People are always watching what everyone else does, sayes, like WTF. get a life.

and before you know it....your 40, 50, 60 years old still stuck in the same rat with 2.2 kids looking for a job that will pay the bills coz you where stuck in cyprus spending your whole life trying to look good and please others.

Thats why History is repeating itself its only gonna get worse.

This thread basically is for those new bees wanna be hot shots who have just come out of university and are working in macdonalds...

The bad news is its not gonna get ANY better. the good news is you still have a chance to get out.

People choose the easy way, get stuck in there comfort zones, cyprus is just so relaxing....ahh my Frappe, women....beach ....

yhea mother fucker thats why when you get married you cant feed your kids or when you do your still living at home untill your 40.

Anyways ...gotta pack. cant sit around here all nite like most you dudes do.

ce ya and wouldnt wanna be ya!!

we are friends with a cypriot policeman who was telling us today that expats are falling victim to scams more than ever and some retired people are loosing everything, he said the cypriots are finding it very hard right now and doing this to expats is there only option...very sad

Are these the scams carried out by the "You can trust me, I'm a Brit" types in Cyprus that take money for a job and never do it?

you stupid bloody rabbit
you have let all that sun go to your head, good job winter has set in other wise you would be in a coma by now.
if i were to go back to cyprus, i would do a few scams, get my own back on a few beggers.
perfect example, when i was there a couple of months ago, two guys (cypriot) one a developer and the oher a so called football club manager (who happened to hate me so much as i had everthing he wanted if you get my drift!
anyway these guys wanted two cars each, never seen them, one a merc and one an audi.
offered me two cheques for 10,000 euros and the rest at the end of the month.
these so called business men clung on like a couple of clingers all week offering to help and were as nice as pie. kept ringing me to offer to help, can we take you anywhere?!!
and what was it all for, to take the cars and bounce the cheques.
and they hadnt even seen the cars.
would you pay 25.000 euros for two cars you havent even seen, would you fuck!
so yes i told them both to f***off.
thats how sly they are

we lived in cyprus for a while, bought a property, lived on savings while we tried to make a living, were getting there when my husband could no longer stand the (british) neighbours who had no thought for anyone but themselves.Cypriot neighbours so lovely and welcoming couldnt stand the Brit family either so it wasnt just us!I hear they owe money everywhere and have moved out only to be thrown out of a couple of rentals, their rented bar and hairdressers through noise, dirt and owing money.Maybe when they leave Cyprus we may try again as we loved our time there and miss it very much.

So, let me get this right. They gave you 2 cheques totaling 10,000 euros and they bounced? or are you presuming they were going to bounce?
Did they want you to sign them over the car deeds without getting the full amount?
