TRUE CYPRIOTS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Bananiot » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:32 pm

This is turning very childish again, as small people turn a thread into a gossip column. Unfortunately, I need to talk about myself, I hate it, but I was given no chance. Fragnatic death is dead sure that I am a Turk.

I am dead sure that he and the rest of the bunch would have been gray wolves had they been born Turks. This is another story, however. The fact of the matter is that I do not hide behind nicks, I have attended in person almost all meetings, my photo has been posted (and abused) in the forum, all know my e mail and most my telephone number. All know where I work and exactly what I do, the number of kids I have and the teams they support.

I explained on numerous occasions why I voted for Annan Plan and pointed out that prominent Cypriots and Greeks, world over, supported the Plan. The list is endless and it includes two ex Presidents, an Attorney General and many more. Present Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and ex Prime Minister Costas Simitis were strong supporters and if some illiterate fools in far away Australia and elsewhere think that these people did so because in their heart they meant to sell Cyprus away, they can go and stuff themselves. Really, I have no time for them.

The first post I wrote in this forum attracted a host of abusers who directed so much mad at me, simply because they disagreed, that left me with no option but to answer in kind. I am not good at swearing and I'd rather use political terms to confront the abusers. DT should know and he should come clean on this. I never started anything but retaliated only when I was constantly referred to as a traitor (by Piratis to start with) because of my stance on the Cyprob.

Through these years I observed many posters and this boomerang bloke is one of the most fascinating cases. He was deeply offended when I called him a fascist but I have a feeling he does not know the meaning of the word. He told me that he cannot be a fascist because his wife is not Cypriot and his kids do not speak the old language. Yet, he gave an oral whacking to poor old sinbad who dared question the democratic institutions of Cyprus! Still, he is just a colourful guy, quite decent I presume, who does not know any better.

I have a suggestion. Can we leave families, kids, jobs and other personal matters away from our debates? It is not fair for anyone, don't you think? Can we also debate opinions without resorting to insults? I promise to be the first one to curb my mouth. is this possible? Can we have honest, civilised debates, even when we disagree?

Patiently waiting for your answers.

Obviously, by the time I typed the above, Piratis and B25 moved in with their usual abuses. Piratis thinks that I am driven by the Angloamericans and on top, he is sure about it. Not one "may be" is found in his piece, he is dead sure. He is scary, isn't he? B25 does not want to meet him, but i would be glad to confront him face to face and we would soon see who is the real Cypriot. He can choose the time and day.

Miltiadis you havent been to cyprus for how long? And what i mean by that as a citizen

I left Cyprus as a young boy aged 15 in 1961 .
Over the last 30 years or so I have been visiting Cyprus very regularly, more so during the last 15 years following my daughters move to Cyprus.
I love and cherish the few days per visit that I spend in Cyprus .
My first visit after emigrating in 1961 was with my English wife way back in 1966 , she fell in love with Cyprus and its people and over the years this love became ingrained in every part of her body hence her wish that her final resting place was in her beloved Cyprus.
My family as well as my friends in Cyprus matter to me a great deal I treasure every moment that I see my grandchildren and as every Cypriot father and grandfather will tell you TA MORA PROTA.
Sadly events this year , my late wife's health , only allowed me 3 visits plus the fourth which was to attend my wife's funeral. Next Wednesday the 23rd , 40 days after my wife's death , I shall be on that plane to Cyprus to spend Xmas with family and friends and to visit my wife's' burial site in Limassol .
What was the point that you were trying to make ?

My dear Bananiot , I have met you and your dear wife and so did you meet my self and my family.
As you know my son in law is a professional army man in the National Guard for the last 15 or so years . He , just as I , has the highest regard for you and respects your sincerity and integrity. Those that know you would come to the same conclusion that I have come to , that you are a sincere, genuine and self respecting man and above all a true Cypriot.

ps. If you ever feel the need to some ..swearing please let me do it for you !!

Milt, I have come to conclusion that it doesn't work. Just ignore them. They do go away, eventually.

Would definitely be up for this Bananiot. As for coming clean about you being provoked, if they're as thick as you say they are why are you dropping to their level?

Remember, whoever doesn't agree with you is not a fascist.

So you are a sheep, without a mind of your own? The right thing to do is to listen to all views and form your opinion based on the content of the plan.

If you believe that you lack the necessary knowledge to take such decision and therefore you instead choose to take the word of some politicians, fine. But in that case you can not lecture us. Just because you blindly trust certain people it doesn't mean we should do that also. Personally I don't trust at all the people that you mentioned.
