Everyone knows that smoking can cause cancer when you get older, but did you know that it also has bad effects on your body right now? A cigarette contains about 4000 chemicals, many of which are poisonous. Some of the worst ones are:

* Nicotine: a deadly poison
* Arsenic: used in rat poison
* Methane: a component of rocket fuel
* Ammonia: found in floor cleaner
* Cadmium: used in batteries
* Carbon Monoxide: part of car exhaust
* Formaldehyde: used to preserve body tissue
* Butane: lighter fluid
* Hydrogen Cyanide: the poison used in gas chambers

Every time you inhale smoke from a cigarette, small amounts of these chemicals get into your blood through your lungs. They travel to all the parts of your body and cause harm.

I don't think a passive smoker would like to have this poisons in his body when he is trying to stay healthy as possible.

And cyprusgrumpy did anyone ever force you to drink alcohol without you wanting it? Think not

And pubs are closing because non-smokers, the people that complained so vociferously about smoking in pubs, aren't using them either...

Because supermarkets flog cheaper booze

Wrong! :lol:

Supermarkets have always offered cheap booze...

But pubs have only been closing at ~50 per week since the smoking ban...

OK?

Wrong, pubs are NOW charging way too much for drink. A small glass of wine in a pub is the same price as a bottle of wine in a supermarket.

Supermarket 'offers' are much more appealing now so people stay at home because it's cheaper.

Ok?

No, you are wrong... prices haven't increased substantially since the smoking ban...

If you have an open mind about it, check out this link.

Otherwise just wait for the effects....

your wasting your time with Z4 & Fragnatic - they don't understand. Remember the bans today lay the groundwork for tomorrows loss of choice and liberty.

I know... they are sleepwalking into it... :roll:

:lol: I’ve been inhaling these “poisons” for the last 30 years and so far nothing’s happened!

You would have looked younger if you didnt breathe in the above and your body would be a whole lot healthier. It's your choice to puff on the cancer sticks, that's cool, but not mine.

Those who have seen me will tell you that I’m 44 but look about 40 so I’m happy with that and wouldn’t want to look any younger lest I get scolded for smoking! 8)

If cigarette smoking was so bad they’d all be dropping like flies! :lol:

Tell me one good thing about it

Smokers enjoy it...

...and you benefit from huge tax revenues...

Sorry, that is two things.

I am not a smoker so please, again, tell me what is good about it?

Why are you ONLY trying to please NON SMOKERS? Doesn't that slightly contradict what you said earlier? :roll:

Also, please find me a chart or something which outlines the cost of society of smoking (smoking related diseases) vs tax benefits.

Which part of the huge tax revenues did you miss...?

Where am I only trying to please non-smokers? :? I don't smoke but don't believe in this undemocratic ban... because it will lead to others...

No - because as much as you may want to try we still make our own decisions about our own lives and don't just accept the "righteous" line we are fed by the MSM.

How about freedom of choice?

Or are you happy to have none?

My choice is that I wish to lead a healthy life. Likewise, if I want to eat fatty foods etc that is my choice.

And you are happy that others lose their freedom of choice to please you?

Even if as a result you will give up other freedoms?
