well with the lap top when you have it on your lap it feels ho but the desktop still heats the same just you dont feel it as much.. plus the lap top does not handle the heat well.. you have lots of problems with the lap top when it over heats.

Neither if they are used properly...

But of course, if you "do use a lot of 3D programming and stuff that require high amount of cpu usage" with the laptop sitting on a carpet or elsewhere where it can't get adequate ventilation then you would expect problems...

Likewise, if you don't clean the dust and other shite out of a desktops fans and cooling fins you would have problems...

Or wasn't I supposed to say that...? :?

Omg this just proves you have no clue what your talking about! Have you ever built a computer and overclocked it? Did you even ever bother opening and experimenting on computer parts?

My Cpu cores back home are running at 20Celcious. A laptops cpu cores run at 40+ celcious at idle.

The hardisk in laptops literally die after 1-2 years of usage. they fill up with so many bad sectors.

Seriously if you dont know what your talking about just dont comment.

I get the fact your a laptop user and your trying to defend your side, but your not giving me any correct reasons. Your about to say a laptops perfoms the same as a desktop.

And do this experiement while your at it. Let a desktop run for 2 months straight then do the same with a laptop.

I suggest you read the entire thread before posting and making a fool of yourself...

I have three desktops (two XP, one W7), a file server (XP 64-bit) and two laptops... so I'm hardly a 'laptop user'.

Two of my desktops are water cooled - I know a lot about components, cooling and overclocking.

To suggest that all laptop hard drives fail after two years is ludicrous!
 Where do you get those 'facts' from?

As I said earlier in the thread, I have two laptops that I've used regularly for years with no problems. That alone disproves your ridiculous claims...

BTW, my first 'PC' had a Z80 and ran CP/M. Prior to that I was using UNIX on a number of different 68000 and Z8000 based systems - I have been in this business many years and know something of what I am talking about.

Unlike you apparently.

thats true..my lap tops usually dont last more then a year.. but it also depends what type of user you are. if you just use it for msn/irc and/or the basic web browsing then it will last a lot longer

Then I don't doubt for a second that they take them back and get them repaired/replaced under the minimum two year EU warranty...
