Robbers steal former Viewpoint's soul

Thieves have stolen the soul of Viewpoint, veteran Cyprus Forum contributor. The soul of the "average TC" was removed after his conscience was broken into overnight, officials said.

Contributors to the popular on line Cyprus Forum, from where the soul was snatched, condemned the act as a "heinous and terrible crime".

Viewpoint's credibility had died a number of years ago and his soul had been placed in a virtual deep freeze.

The robbery from the Cyprus Problem thread was discovered after Viewpoint's soulless body was found posting offensive profanities.

The motive for the theft remains unclear, investigators say.

Grave desecration is a shameful act. To use this vile act to spread more hatred between Cypriots is reprehensible. On this issue VP is very much on his own...Even Rauf Denktash, the archenemy to many GCs has condemned it...Lets wait and see what the police will turn up...If nothing, that will say it all..Please,enough Turk/TC bashing, and enough irresponsible and contemptable comments about the dead... :( :(

3 GREEK CYPRIOT SOLDIERS QUESTIONED IN CONNECTION WITH THEFT

Greek Cypriot police are continuing their investigation into the theft of the remains of the former Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos from his grave on Thursday night.
According to Greek Cypriot media reports, police questioned three individuals, in connection with information that a military ambulance had been seen in the area.
The men who were released late last night are said to be soldiers serving in the Greek Cypriot National Guard.

According to available information, unknown persons removed the body from the coffin and disappeared, under the cover of darkness, on the eve of the first anniversary since his death.

Mounds of earth could be seen at the site of the grave along with white powder, reported to be lime, scattered around and on the tombstone.
It is speculated that the act was the work of a group of people, at least four but probably more than that.

Meanwhile, a memorial service for the late Greek Cypriot leader took place this afternoon as planned at the Ayios Nicolau Church.
The service was attended by the head of the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church Archbishop Chrisostomos.

So can we have some clarification, BirKibrisli? Do you believe Viewpoint represents the views of your average TC, as you claim in your exchanges with Piratis on another thread, or not?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... grave.html

...there are two scenarios the authorities are looking at.

One involves the possibility of an extremist group having a hand in the macabre incident for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble and side-tracking the peace process.

The other is that the crime could be the work of professional tomb raiders seeking a ransom from the family. The newspaper said a Romanian gang active in Europe is a possible suspect.

Either scenario, they are still scum for doing such a desecration.

How do you think the GCs would react if it was the other way around im sure they would say much worse things and they do, the crap they band around about Atatürk is unbelievable. When they get some of their medicine they cry like babies.

I'm so glad we agree on somethings; this and the new NZ flag. If only your porky-penpal hadn't filled your mind with nonsense you'd probably be an OK guy.

Well, I appreciate about half of what you said. I do think that I'm an okay guy, but one of my faults is that I get my back up at affronts a little too much. While I can't apologize for how I feel on the Cyprus Issue, I will expess my apologies to you for any personal insults I hurled at you on this forum.
