About 20 years ago I was given a tape of Christy Moore who sings beautiful songs with very touching lyrics and one of his songs on this tape was "Ordinary Man" which I believe was ahead of it's time giving today's financial problems that millions of unemployed or underpaid are facing financial problems around the world. Lately I have been playing this song over and over again in my car just because the lyrics of this song are very true in today's times, so I want to bring to your attention that if you are in a position to help out a family member or a friend who is having a financial problems with perhaps they missing that one mortgage payment or not being able to buy enough food and clothes for the kids where they will never come out and ask for help, but deep down you know that they are doing without many things and that missed mortgage payment is keeping them awake at night of worry, you know that they are having a rough time.
I'm not suggesting that you should pay for everything just because you might be in a position to do so, but just enough once in a while so that these family members or friends are able to keep their head above the water long enough to survive. I'm able to do this with a family member with kids when other family members with means just chose to ignore the needs of the needed family member, just because they were not asked directly for some financial assistance. You all know deep down who you can help once in a while so that these family members do not fall too far behind, so reach out and help them if you can. This is not a Christmas good deed thing, but just in general. Your slightest help to these family members and friends will go a long way and if possible, they will pay you back when ever they can, and if they can't, just take one holiday less next year. Enjoy giving, it will make you feel good about yourselves.!
