My tribute to a Great Cypriot .

Postby miltiades » Thu Dec 10, 2009 2:07 am

On that fateful day , Friday the 13th my beloved wife lost her lengthy battle against cancer , her suffering ended on that day when after frantic efforts to resuscitate her the medics gave up and I begun the task right there and then to inform my family , first my son then my daughter out in Cyprus , my brothers , one here in the UK one in Cyprus , then my friends .

DENIZ , had stood by me all along this excruciatingly difficult time , not a day went by without an expression of support and comforting words .
I informed Deniz and all friends of Iris's death by text.
My family , first my son then my nieces and nephews gathered around the house to offer a shoulder to cry on. Then Deniz arrived . My dear friend and compatriot , a compassionate and wonderful man who deeply cared for my loss and came to me on that day. I shall respect him and admire him for the rest of my life.
Many calls came that day including one from my dear friend Mr-from-NG.

It is through personal experiences that one draws conclusions and formulates opinions on people . I have formulated my opinions and have come to believe even more than I ever did thus far that the Cypriot people , G/Cs , T/Cs , Armenians such as Kafenes who came to my wife's funeral service along with Bananiot and wife , Bubbles , an English Cypriot and her husband , are a wonderful bunch of people , being T/C does not make someone a murderer anymore than being a G/C does.
For some to suggest that the T/Cs support the cold blooded murder of a G/C is not only irresponsible but it is damaging to the island of Cyprus and its future.

The extremists must never be permitted to dictate to the Cypriot people once more.
Deniz and I are both Cypriots first and foremost , both want the best for our people and our future generations of Cypriots.

My beloved wife chose this wonderful island as her final resting place , an English lady who fell in love with Cyprus and its people , all the people not just the G/Cs.

The moral of the story , one G/C , one T/C united by their love for their homeland , friends and compatriots for ever.

Nobody doubts that there are good Turkish Cypriots, but at the political level which concerns the future of Cyprus, the Turkish Cypriots are represented by a not-so good lot who are clearly anti-Cypriot and parlaying with Turkey, so let’s not get our personal lives confused with politics.

True friends worth their wieght in gold.

Lovely words Milti and Deniz sounds a really good person. If all people thought like you Cyprus would once again become whole.

Carry on embracing good people, we all should.

I have always challenged those whose views I consider damaging to the prospects of a Cyprus solution leading to unification and a long and lasting peace so that our future generations do not have to endure what we did .There are always those whose views must be challenged , one such individual being yourself , I must however admit that there has been from your part , consciously or subconsciously a noticeable input of sense in some of your views on the Cyprob.
Many that I have argued in the past , I now see as friends , Paphitis and Oracle included.
The more Miltiadeses and Denizes around the more likely that a solution will be found.
My views on the political scene are well known , I do not have to repeat.
Suffice to say that I have on numerous occasions being highly critical of the cheapskates living in the occupied part. I have many Brits that I call my friends , I have yet to receive a reprimand from anyone.

I think we should respect the original post by Miltiades which was one about personal pain and human compassion. May we all get together soon, under more happy circumstances.

Thank you Miltiades for your kind words.

It was unnecessary to exagerate any support I may have given at your time of grief.
I wish I could have done more, but I will leave it at that.

I hope the girls have got the seko ready for me. God willing (Inshallah) see you Friday afternoon.
