Wrong! We don't have the insecurities the foreign invader has for being here. That's why their flag matters so much to them! Because they know they don't belong here and the "insult" of its dismantling by a native was too great to bare. This is what you inadvertently confessed.

But, by association, you applied that same psychology to TCs and implied they too would kill for their "flag". Because secretly, you know that is a temporary "flag" for a temporary "state! So, in their insecurity, you think TCs would kill to protect their budding "nation's flag".

No GC has said they would even "deplore" the tearing down of Greek flags or RoC flags because we are secure in the knowledge that the RoC is legitimate and true and no flag, whatever colour or flavour, would change that!

Because there are a great number of people who are Greek, living and working as legal EU nationals in Cyprus. The GO Church also has an affiliation with Greece and the flag has Christian significance. So the Church uses it. So do some religious people. So do some who hope Greece will help us regain our freedom. Those are the reasons and some are minor things.

What is incomprehensible is why the Turks make such a big thing about their flag (enough to kill) so that it makes others react in opposition. The Turkish flag is only here in such numbers because of the invasion and occupation. It is here to make a point! Cyprus is occupied by Turkey! The minority rule!

The Greek flag is not .... it is a relic of the past as the older generation gets used to freedom within the EU ...
