A 'TRNC' loving New Zealander, who professes not to like kiwi fruit? You just do it all for effect, don't you?

Well that's what I would hope Phill. But last time we had a discussion on the shooting of Solomou for trying to lower the Turkish flag, it surmised that a size-able number of TCs would not condemn the shooting. Now, Expat suggested, that not only would they not condemn this atrocity, but perhaps would do similar (unspecified) should any GCs insult the "trnc" flag. This would then be a TC against GC situation, for the sake of a flag.
Oracle, firstly, I did NOT say they would kill, but what would you do to a person who - right in front of you - tried to desecrate a Greek flag or a RoCy flag? There have been cases here in USA when annoyed citizens attacked people for trying to destroy a USA flag.

What do you expect? She acts for and behalf of Greece; a country that has never respected the independence of Cyprus just like Turkey!

wrong expat...personally, I do not give a flying fuck...their choice...
It reminds me of a case where 3 tourists, climbed up a pole and stole one of the biggest ozzie flags in Melbourne...cut it in 3 pcs and stuffed each piece in the back pack...they all got caught and believe it or not we didn't put them against thet wall for execution...they faced justice in court...not for cutting it but for stealing it...they got a suspended sentence and thrown out of the country...
you cannot justify murder for a cloth...

Vexilidolotry makes such a circumstance not unusual, I'm afraid. Various countries do have the death penalty for desecrating their national flags, and other countries have lengthy sentences. NZ is one of the lighter cases: The Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act makes the burning of a NZ flag punishable by a fine.

PS...whats your take on this expat...do you endorse the taking of a human life for burning/mishandling/shreading a flag?
