But then again it all comes how a person uses his computers. Stop with the porn sites

I don't even run scans at all. I just have the programs in case I need them.

I have Nod32 running in the background as well as Spybot.

I am weary of Spyware because I do my Banking online as well as pay bills, which means I am always entering account numbers and security passwords.

I also do some stock market trading through Comsec and move money around quite a lot. So I think security is of paramount importance.

So there are some very valid reasons why someone would be very protective of their computer. Its not all about porn, even though many people have got viruses from visiting dubious websites.

Even visiting Cyprus Forum automatically downloads Spyware onto your computer which monitors the websites you visit and internet activity.

Yeah but i use prepaid VISA with paypal. So no worries if i get my account stolen. They wont manage to credit anything. I only put the correct amount each if I ever want to get something. And if you monitor your transactions through the bank sending you SMS each time, it becomes even safer. Its how you control it. Cause with spyware whatever you do you cant control it. If your details will get stolen they will and you cant do anything about it.

You can never be 100% safe, when it comes to internet banking many banks have got extra security features. My bank in Cyprus had special keyrings that would calculate a unique password to be used for internet banking. In Oz, I use the Commonwealth bank they have a service that also sends out a unique code to your mobile whenever you make a transaction. The code must be entered before the transaction is processed. Banks also monitor your previous patterns and automatically block your account should a suspicious transaction arise.
