Also Kristyn u need a car here in Cyprus. They don't have public transportation like other US cities e.g. Chicago and NY. There is Travel Express, but believe its kinda pricey. I'm not sure. I remember when my husband (then fiance) in April called Immigration here to ask questions for me . They asked him why he's with a foreigner and why is he bringing someone here to take Cypriot jobs. I doubt Immigration will be very helpful towards u. And I'm not just talking about my case. I have heard other cases whereby Immigration lost people documents several times or took a very long time with applications. In addition when applying for your work permit as a non-EU national, you need to have 850 euros in the bank and u won't be able to use this money. It's there so that the Cypriot gov't can use it to repatriate u if necessary. U will be need to also pay 68 euros for the first yr of the work permit and I believe like 40 euros yearly after that.
