Help me out guys !

Postby jbeul » Sun Dec 06, 2009 12:24 am

Hello all of you :p

I'm here because my gf is from cyprus, and I'm trying to tell her some "lovely" stuff but I don't know anything in greek ^^

If someone could send me a PM to translate something for me it'd be nice of you !! It won't be long, just a few words but I don't want to post it here :p

Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum jbeul.

A word of advice if I may be so bold............ buy yourself a small phrase book and compose your own messages, you may live to regret the suggestion that another should do it for you.

Best Wishes.

Daniel.

mmm ok that's a good point ! Thing is I wanted to be perfect in my phrase so she can be impressed :p But I think you're right, maybe a free website and quick learning ?

Though I'm french, will it be more easy or difficult ?

I think it may be to your advantage to court the young lady in your native tongue my friend, French IS the language of love and the onus will be on her to translate (which gives YOU the advantage).

As to learning a few phrases of Greek, a simple task for a Frenchman.

Bon Chance.

Jbeul, Floda certainly does have a point.... most of us on here would stitch you up with something dodgy to say to your beloved, probably resulting in you receiving a slap!!!!

Lol yes ok I was going to trust you ! I know people says french is more lovely, but I wanted to show her that I want her to teach me greek in order to live with her in cyprus (that was double action :p)

Well anyway thanks because I guess I should do myself :p

Respect to you Phill, I recall a young Cypriot chap being instructed to ask for "Arseholes and custard" in a London cafe when he applied himself to the task of learning a few phrases from his English workmates.

I believe he really wanted 'Apple pie and custard' and the recollection of THAT incident prompted me to warn jbeul that the same sort of tuition might be forthcoming, IF he relied upon members (dare I say) such as we ?.
