Are you referring to the proclamation of the Turkish Cypriot Federal State in 1975, or of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 1983? If you are referring to the latter event, then why did Turkish Cypriots in your view not feel safe and secure in the TCFS?

The TCFS was being shunned. Denktas felt that independence would gain more attention, and therefore the shunning would stop, and things would therefore improve for the Turkish Cypriots. However, the UN Security Council put paid to that...
