Better looking than this?

Another flag that reeks of colonialism, oddly enough.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. To me that flag screams out 'Yavruvatan'. What a patronising concept! Moreover, why, if the TRNC is supposedly an independent state, is that flag invariably flown in tandem with that of Turkey?

Isn't the Greek Cypriot flag invariably flown in tandem with the EU flag, then?

The Republic of Cyprus is officially and legally, by international treaty, part of the EU.

If you ever thought of going to Hawaii, check out their state flag first.

OK. So why do we invariably see the Greek flag flown in tandem with that of the RoC in the RoC?

I'm one of the increasing numbers of Kiwis supporting a change in the New Zealand flag. The current one is a colonial relic.

The National Flag of Greece (which is another nice-looking flag, I have to admit...)., the UN flag in the buffer zone, the Union Jack in the SBA's, and (finally) the RoCy flag is to be primarilly seen on government buildings in the south.

But the best-est flag of all to see flying is this one!

Since Christofias was elected, I have noticed that you no longer see the Greek flag flying from government buildings, which I think is a step in the right direction. I do not see why government buildings should not fly the EU flag alongside it. Cyprus is a member of the EU, after all!

You'll need to address this question to those who fly them.

Shame you would advocate this for your own people but for the people of Cyprus living in the north you would advocate a colonial relic.
